A 3-shot flurry in front by Utica, but Jones holds steady.

Thompson a chance on the post on a centering pass, but his attempt slid wide.

Laberge with 2 jabs at the puck on the post to the left of Jones. Both stabs went off Martin's pads.

Comets to the PP. Bad penalty by the Marlies. A high stick in the offensive zone.

Terrible PP

PP over and Bowers got in off the rush on the right side and hit Jones up high. Comets just not making good chances count.

TO called for holding with :16 left in the period.

Dowling has won more faceoffs already this season in 2 games than Thompson, Pinho, and Engaras won together all last season! He is really good on the draw and it has meant breakouts instead of endless offensive pressure against offensive pressure off the draw.

Period ends and it's 4-2 Marlies.

SOG for the 2nd even at 8.

Comets will start the 3rd on their 5th PP of the Game.

Not even a sniff on that one.

Clarke and Thompson are not effective in making things happen on the PP. Just don't think the PP well.

Comets score and it's waved off. No reason given for it.

They've shown no replay. No penalty was called. ???

Parent in clean on a turnover and is stopped from between the circles.

Marlies score on a shot from in close.

Comets miss on all their chances and the Marlies score on their only good chance of the period.

5-2.

TV TO
12:09 left and it would be a huge uphill climb for the Comets to even tie this one.

Toronto on the PP.

Foote is in the box for hand over the puck. Now Wothersspoon gets 2 for tripping.

Thus far Poulter has been the story on this 5 on 3.
Comets win the draw and it's cleared. Big faceoff win!

They killed it! Or should I say Poulter killed it. Great work by the kid.

9:23 to go still trailing by 3.

Vilen walks in and shoots on net from the dot and Gambardella's effort on the rebound is deflected wide.

I haven't sighted Hatakka this period.

Another great chance as Engaras can't trigger a shot after receiving the puck in front of an open side.

Wotherspoon gets 2 for tripping with 6:45 to go.

The Comets deep 4 man box allows every team to be able top work the puck all over the ice and always find the open man. When they have PP they are challenged to even maintain possession because the defenders force the action.

I doubt they can even work on the PP in practice because the boys are not used to the active PK and are weak at replicating it.

Now Laberge gets 2 for crosschecking.

This game is all over except for the clock ticking down. 3:36 to go and still have a minute to kill.

Now Toronto called for hooking.

Clarke is a brain dead PP hockey player in every way except shooting the puck when he gets it while standing still.

Game over. 5-2 final score.

Poulter yields 1 goal in just over 47:53.

Article is from beginning of camp last week.

Curious as to whether Mareks Mitens is close to recovered from his rehab and if he is still in the organization picture long-term?

Is Jeremy Brodeur still actually an option?

Mitens is not with the Thunder anymore, he wasn’t one of the three goalies on their protected list.

The three were: Jake Thuit (retired at 29), Mike Robinson (26, signed w/ EIHL), and Vinnie Purpura (24, re-signed w/ Thunder).

Brodeur is signed to a 1 year two way AHL deal so he’s very much an option, he’s also the AHL emergency guy as he’s only experienced goalie on the roster. (Their third goalie is Tyler Brennan.)

They’re playing Bridgeport and Hartford Wolfpack logo on top there. Genuinely confused for a moment.

How can they insult this beauty of a logo?

Also, this is Bridgeport’s staff.

Matt MacDonald never worked or played for the Devils not sure how he snuck in there.
Time machine. Islanders owners should watch on Lou's past AHL success with Kowalski and Chris Lamoriello and rethink their AHL strategy.
I like the way the colors work in this logo - these shades of blue and orange are close to the same in tone and are opposite colors, they ripple in the eyes and irritate, causing mild nausea.
