Speculation: 2023-24-25 Sharks Roster Discussion

  • We sincerely apologize for the extended downtime. Our hosting provider, XenForo Cloud, encountered a major issue with their backup system, which unfortunately resulted in the loss of some critical data from the past year.

    What This Means for You:

    • If you created an account after March 2024, it no longer exists. You will need to sign up again to access the forum.
    • If you registered before March 2024 but changed your email, username, or password in the past year, those changes were lost. You’ll need to update your account details manually once you're logged in.
    • Threads and posts created within the last year have been restored.

Our team is working with Xenforo Cloud to recover data using backups, sitemaps, and other available resources. We know this is frustrating, and we deeply regret the impact on our community. We are taking steps with Xenforo Cloud to ensure this never happens again. This is work in progress. Thank you for your patience and support as we work through this.

Fabian Zetterlund was completely useless his first half-season here when we traded for him

Within 2 years he became so valuable the franchise couldn't stay in the Bay Area after we traded him

It's clearly too early to write the book on Ostapchuk (*whispers* that nothing player, he is *finished whispering*)

we can all hear you

Undrafted college free agent Scott from SJ. Wonders if Sharks are in on him (around 50 minutes in).

Harrison Scott:

“Scouting reports emphasize Scott’s well-rounded skill set and high hockey IQ. Standing at 6’0″ and weighing 185 pounds, he combines size with agility, making him effective in both offensive and defensive situations. Scott excels in puck control, showcasing smooth hands and the ability to navigate through tight spaces. His vision and passing accuracy allow him to create scoring opportunities for his teammates, while his quick release and accurate shot make him a threat in the offensive zone. Additionally, Scott’s work ethic and commitment to improving his two-way game have made him a valuable asset on the ice. With his blend of skill, intelligence, and determination, Harrison Scott continues to be a player to watch as he progresses in his hockey career.”

I remember Harrison Scott in his lone NAHL season for the now defunct Amarillo Bulls. Good player (and I'm always fond of guys that have to work their way into opportunities, and then make the most out of those opportunities), I would like to have the Sharks sign him. Gotta think they are one of the top contenders given his local ties, unless he or the Sharks think the Sharks prospect pool at forward is too packed. That said, this note above mentions that he has participated in a VGK development camp in the past. Curious how this guy didn't ever end up in a Sharks development camp given the local ties.

Just a heads up that since he had to go to the likes of the BCHL and NAHL to earn a D1 scholarship, he's older. 24 now, 25 in September.

He had some good seasons at Clarkson and ASU (his final year). That's good enough for me.

Better question is, why didn't he sign with the team that drafted him, the Blues? Was it the Blues that didn't want to sign him, or that he didn't want to play for them? My gut says his not-so-hot final season at Clarkson turned the Blues off.
