I’m not sure you’re missing anything with the player, we all have biases that effect our viewings, and we all have a different level of understanding (I’m not saying I have more or you have less or vice versa, whatsoever. Not in the slightest). We are just coming to different conclusions based on the same stuff we are watching, happens with scouts all the time. People see different things in the same games all the time.
Different people are going to see different things. Different people looking for different things are going to have different outcomes and different viewpoints.
Usually someone with a negative bias already is going to look for those confirmations for a negative bias. Those with a positive bias are going to look for things for confirmation on those positive biases.
It’s not too surprising I’m seeing more positive than negatives in Dickinson, and the opposite for yourself, they were both strong feelings held prior to the draft among both of us.
Likewise with Yak, you’re seeing a lot more positives than me, I’m seeing more negatives, you had a very positive feeling pre draft and I had lukewarm at best pre draft.
It is a good post, but if you look at the London Knights board and see there reviews of the game - this what you get. This guy is a London knights fan, who wants Dickinson benched. No one is countering him, arguing that Dickinson hasn't been awful in this series. They all accept it. They just think he is being over the top. I agree with that.
Like you said, we all have biases, but somethings are pretty obvious. When Hamonic has several turnovers in a game, we can all agree that he played bad.
My argument has always been, when the structure and intensity get ramped up - Dickinson will fold. This guy in the post below may totally disagree with my perspective, but it hard to argue that Dickinson hasn't been a roller coaster in this series and on this, the poster and I agree.
Yet, I think it exposes a fatal flaw with his hockey sense and the poster probably doesn't. It is those parts that are debatable. I think most observers would agree that Yakemchuk has been really solid defensively in these playoffs, possibly the team’s best defensive defenseman , and has shown composure in his own end, playing against a far superior team in the second round. Now maybe people don't think his offense will translate to the NHL and I think that is fair.
Dickinson has been worse than Parekh against Erie, because at least Parekh created stuff while being a rollercoaster. Erie is not a talented team and virtually everyone else on London is dominating. Like I said before, Cam Allen has been brilliant.

Next game I would dress Aboflan, Spencer and Fagan. Scratch Reid, Fimis and Dickinson.
It’s not that Dickinson is not playing that well, he is a liability. Nevermind no offence….hes giving the puck away almost every other shift, no physicality….maybe something is wrong, he’s sick, he’s hurt, I don’t know but he is a shadow of his regular season self. It’s painful to watch.
And this series won’t go past 4 games. Erie can’t match the depth of London. Doesn’t it feel like London has another gear and yet games like this they’re up 5-2 after 2….and Erie is getting a bit of help from the refs too, still not enough.
He was amazing during the season. Round 1 he was very good. Have you watched this series? Obviously not. He’s been awful. Terrible. A liability. How many points does he have this series? Has there been OT? No. He’s a give away machine and needs to turn it around. Watch him. You’ll see.
The WHL games I watch are way more structured than the OHL; the amount open ice in SAG v. Erie or London v. Erie in these playoffs is surprising and is not what I am used to, watching teams like Calgary, Lethbridge, Edmonton, etc.
