2023-24 Senators Prospect Watch

  • We sincerely apologize for the extended downtime. Our hosting provider, XenForo Cloud, encountered a major issue with their backup system, which unfortunately resulted in the loss of some critical data from the past year.

    What This Means for You:

    • If you created an account after March 2024, it no longer exists. You will need to sign up again to access the forum.
    • If you registered before March 2024 but changed your email, username, or password in the past year, those changes were lost. You’ll need to update your account details manually once you're logged in.
    • Threads and posts created within the last year have been restored.

Our team is working with Xenforo Cloud to recover data using backups, sitemaps, and other available resources. We know this is frustrating, and we deeply regret the impact on our community. We are taking steps with Xenforo Cloud to ensure this never happens again. This is work in progress. Thank you for your patience and support as we work through this.

Damn, our prospect pool might be the worst in the NHL… but yeah nobody outside of invitees are under 6’0 though! Let’s play 2000’s hockey!
Let me guess, you believe the Habs have best prospect pool since the ‘70s.

Reinbacher was ranked in the top 10, barely a reach (although Michkov was the obvious pick). Regardless, they got a superstar in Demidov this year.
There was a big drop after top 5. Skipping Michkov for anyone was a big reach.

So as a season ticket holder can I go see these practices?

Also how have nrodberg and Stanley looked?

Dude... why some of you keep coming with that stupid retort of if I was a Habs fan? I used to be a Habs HATER... eventually I matured and now they're just a team in the NHL, a rival as they are in the same division as my favorite team

This persecution complex is something else, people in Ottawa should instead be GRATEFUL that there's people OUTSIDE of their city who care about their team, because even inside their own city, A LOT of people are Leafs and Habs fans.

But yeah currently their pool is a million years ahead of ours (like it is the case for many NHL teams), don't you think?

I really like how they've drafted under Kent Hughes.

For me, I started being worried when they finally fired Trevor Timmins.

Dude, I don’t think you are a Habs fan, but I think your view of them is being coloured by being inondated with the local hype machine, especially from a prospects point of view.

lol not at all, I'm barely following them (no radio and little TV, I don't read Habs/RDS/TVA websites anymore) since their management changes, no time. But come on, look at their prospect pool, you don't need any hype machine to see that it is absolutely stacked.

Demidov is blue chip, Hutson looke good in a short sample size but how will he stand up to a full season at his size. The rest are okay.

Hutson is a blue chip and will be a top offensive D-man. Demidov a superstar

What about Jacob Fowler?

Also :

David Reinbacher
Logan Mailloux
Michael Hage
Joshua Roy
Adam Engstrom
Owen Beck
Emil Heineman
Sean Farrell
Oliver Kapanen
Filip Mesar
Riley Kidney
Aatos Koivu

This is going to be their Top-15. It looks stacked like it was for us after that 2020 draft. Problem is we sabotaged our wealth like CRAZY since. Hopefully they do the same mistakes.

very smart ... I think they have a good prospect pool .. especially on D... Adding Demidov and Hage up front this year isn't too shabby
Demidov is blue chip for sure. They have a lot of D prospects but to me they are all 3-6D if they make it, even Hutson who is an excellent offensive player, is not top pairing. To me the best part of their pool is ammo to acquire players through trade.

Reinbacher is a definite top 4 , maybe a 2. Mailloux probable top 4. Hutson can run a PP. They have WIFI in there as well as a monster 3rd pairing guy
I like Struble ... they have a few real NHL D prospects that will play. Not so much the project/maybe types.

As I said before they have a lot of 3-6D prospects but most will need to be traded as they can’t all play. Hutson is a wildcard. Can he become Quinn Hughes at his size or will he wind up as a specialist, he’s a fun prospect to watch but not a slam dunk.

I think Kleven is going to emerge as a capable defenceman, Ostapchuk is going to get an opportunity to show how good he can be defensively & I expect that Halliday could start the yr as the 4th line centre.

I’m not sure about the last two. Would be nice but I’m pretty confident Kleven will look good

100%. From Ottawa originally. Sens fan thick and true. Live in Muskoka and trust me this is 98% Leafs territory and 2% other. Once you clear the other side of Whitney you're back in the 613 and the odd Sens fan creeps up until you get to Barries Bay. People in Ottawa rejoice our Sens~!!
