They love putting him in only vs the tough teams like Dallas and Edmonton then ripping him when he doesnt get the puck in deep before going off for a line change. It works out well so they can bench him again for 3 weeks.
The reality is they should have played him against Chicago both games to build his confidence a little.

And only give him 5 mins of ice time. Plus, zero powerplay time which is what he excels at.

So, this is when Kaliyev gets < 7 minutes, a goal is scored when he's on the ice, and then front office apologists say this is why Kaliyev hasn't earned ice time.

How could anyone in his situation even with the talent of a superstar, play at an exellent level with the lack of play and competition the kings mgmt has forced on kaliyev?
They are proving their own vision of failure for this guy.
 
Kaliyev gets to play...its been tough for him having to play his Off-Wing,not many players can make the adjustment and succeed...I would not be surprised if he's dealt come July 1st or perhaps at the 2024 draft

Kings are going to be in tough tonight because the Oilers will be looking for revenge from the beatdown the Kings gave them last time round

They should have dealt him a long time ago instead of f***ing with him.
Whats the point of trying to ruin a guy professionally?

They are just prepping for Grundstrom's imminent return.

But in all honesty, there isn't really a legit argument that Kaliyev makes the Kings any better than giving the hotter hands a few extra shifts. Kaliyev put himself in this hole. He had been coughing up pucks left and right at the top of the circles and regularly getting lost in defensive coverages. His last 10-15 games may have been the worst individual games of any player this year, and with Dubois that says a lot.

But bigger picture, he can't play the aggressive style of game the Kings want out of their wingers. He's no slash skater, he is a lousy forechecker and doesn't pressure anyone on the backcheck. He is a terrible fit for this system, but there is hope because the system itself needs to change.

We all do know it's eventually going to be 11-6 right after Kaliyev gets his first 10 second shift. LOL.
