Laf isn't doing everything right but there was a discussion earlier about why he gets more opportunities than Kaliyev or other similar young players. Well you can see throughout this game exactly why. It's the skating. Skates faster, skates through contact. Can use his skating to create opportunities. Gets pushed into the boards and keeps going. He's more physically gifted and sometimes that's what puts a young player ahead of more skilled players.

In this case it might be more like Trevor Moore. The org has failed at a lot of things but one thing they've done well with the last five years or so is develop scoring touch in quick skaters.
