Yes, it is no doubt an organizational issue. I have never said Kopitar and Doughty are not good players, but they were no longer useful to the Kings organization in attaining what should have been their goal. That goal should have been rebuilding a roster to contend for a Stanley Cup.Like mismanaging youth like they still are?
Kopitar and Doughty weren't the problem. But go ahead and keep deluding yourself that it was two players instead of an infrastructure and systemic issue. Clearly they were the only two things holding the org back.
While we're doing "I told you so", you happen to remember those statements? Of course you don't. Then you couldn't spin your narrative and pretend you know what you're talking about.
Perhaps there lies the problem. BLuc, even after watching it be done, doesn't have a clue as to how to build a contending team.
...or maybe even worse building a contending team was not their objective.
As far as being delusional, remind me again why this organization had to wait so long to trade Jeff Carter. According to you he had to be retained to mentor the youngsters, Well, where are the youngsters he provided his invaluable mentoring to during his last couple of seasons with the Kings.
Players are assets, and should be treated as such by the organization.
