What really sucked was the rags gave up 10 goals in their last two game and got smoked last night. The King pretty much gave them this win with a lack of effort.
I blame the injury to the NHL stupid scheduling...the NHLPA should be making this an issue for the Love of Pete...5 games in 8 nights that's like playing 6 straight Baseball double headers...no its not like Baseball players barely break a sweet...its like playing 3 football games in 7 nights

The official from last night that made all the shitty calls tonite is named Rank... very fitting for how shitty he called both games
He definitely stunk he should be demoted to the ECHL to get his head and Eye's straighten out

Kaliyev literally scored and had it taken away on a terrible call
it's always interesting to me how differently people see the same things

The moments I did catch of the game I saw PLD looking like a massive bum out there that couldn't cycle to save his life. One of his worst games yet? granted I didn't catch the whole game

I thought he was at least noticeable in the 1st then decided that was enough. We'll see him again in 10 games or so.

All of the above are true though.

I don't want to give them the reffing alibi because far too often lately they've gotten away with playing one period, 1.5 periods of each game and winning. So they appropriately collapsed last night and got shitcanned tonight.

The reffing, though, had a huge disgusting impact on BOTH games. These are the results they've deserved for a few games though and if I'm TM thats my message, hey we've got to get back to work, you aren't getting thsoe points back no matter who took them, the rangers or the refs. hahah JK if i'm TM I'm eating crayons and trying to figure out how to make lines out of odd numbers.

Props to Quick. And Copley wasn't going to steal that game, we were mostly trash with a side of buttf***ed by Garret Rank.

This team is deep--but not deep enough to replace guys in the lineup. No Arvidsson is starting to show. No Danault was REALLY bad. JAD is godawful and now Turcotte isn't available. If we lose a forward, who's up? They seem anti-Fagemo and Turcotte. Tynan? Whatever the plug-in is, it's not good. People are selling out to stop the top line now because the other three aren't doing much. What you see is what you get.

Same on D, go figure if we get an injury it's a LHD.

Get home, get healthy, get some practices under your belt. And get ready to play some west coast opponents and get those MUST points vs. the division.

And again, I am SO glad to not be a part of that division, just absolutely embarassing hockey, like the old Oilers or Canucks, just instigate and run and pray for the refs to bail you out with a PP while diving all over the ice. It's just a big god damn soap opera with one line of high-end PP talent.

Just such a weird schedule. It’s gonna be hard to keep a rhythm when you’re barely playing and winning games then you immediately go to playing many. I’m gonna tag this up to fatigue. And just poor coaching. The Kings didn’t deserve to win but neither did the Rangers. But the officials gave it to them because they’re idiotic.

This is where having a shortened roster because you're up against the cap is a bad idea. A player may not be eligible for LTIR but 5 games in 8 days doesn't afford flexibility or rest.

Meh take the L and focus on winning some home games. 2-1-1 5 out of a possible 8 points.
just doesn't feel very good when the lead you made on the coilers is evaporating behind their 7 win streak

still in a good place overall, just like man, those 2 games didn't feel good at all

I'm not gonna blame the Kings(players) for how they lost this game. The refs were calling ticky-tac stuff on the Kings and letting go a good deal of stuff on the Rags. You take too many penalties that are out of your control and it messes up your team game. Refs messed up the Kings team game. Last night, the Caps were disciplined and didn't take a lot of penalties, which neutralized how the Rangers can beat you. Caps also took away the Rags rush game. Finger pointing should be on the Kings coaches tonight, besides the officiating. TMac stinks at line matching. When nothing is going right, he's weak at taking what players are going good and changing the lines up.

Are you insinuating that paying 8.5 million for PLD was a bad idea? Big oof.

This contract is worse than the Petersen contract by far and that’s saying something.

Summary post incoming:

I hope gavs thing is minor.. and not something major caused from playing on a destabilized knee tonite... its not like they are in the playoffs and needed to get him back pronto.

on the upside, I think its good to see what bjornfot or movarare can do for a bit.

Copley was fine so at least there's that

Dubois - he is making it difficult on how to settle the bottom 9. He's a big albatross of what to do, you dont want to do anythign too obvious so he sulks and if possible be worse.. but honestly he doesnt deserve 3C the way he's playing.. Lizo would be better there. This is Koala's biggest challenge at the moment on what to do with him... I could could envision putting him at 2nd line wing w danault and Moore to hide him defensively w 2 accountable linemates and let him focus on scoring. You'd move Lizotte up play w Fiala and Laf, Grundstrom Lewis and Kaliyev as 4th. Not ideal but maybe a way to nurse him along the way Byfield played wing and came along.

I guess you are not aware the Rags generate a lot of revenue for the NHL(probably 2nd to the Leafs who by far generate the most revenue). So of course the officiating was to the Rags favor, so they weren't idiots but doing what they were told to do. They were Game Managers and not officiating based on the rule book!

As bad as the scoreboard shows and atrociously the officiating, one thing for the Kings came out of this. They finally tasted a regulation defeat on the road. I hope it humbles the team to play better and that they weren't going regulation undefeated on the road forever.

At the risk of sounding like a broken record, I'll flat out say that bringing in and paying Dubois that amount has put the Kings in a bad spot cap-wise, especially for his level of play.

If he played and produced like an $8.5 million player, it would be easier to swallow. But it's sticking out like a sore thumb.

He's on pace for 36 points now. That's how much Alex Iafallo scored in 59 games last season. Two more points than Lizotte's production last year.

I get it, he needs time. But if Blake were paying Lizotte this much coin, they wouldn't be using his linemates as a defense.

Figuring out the calls tonight was a lot more interesting to the game, it was like a puzzle.

On to the next one.

I still don’t think the Kings could justify paying 8.5 million for PLD if the plan for him was strictly to be a third line center for a few years. That just seems absolutely shitty planning and just bad asset management.

Judging by his personality I think it’s fair to assume he’s dogging it because of the way the Kings are using him even though he doesn’t deserve a promotion up the line

And both those guys do a lot more than score that PLDud does not do.. so he is actually worse than it even seems. He's DOGSHIT and there is no other way about it.

I thought he'd be overpaid based on a 60 point pace

Didn't ever think he'd barely be cracking a 30 point pace

There's just no moral victories there particularly when the other teams have figured out the only matchup that matters is the first line and Moore. Fiala is a time bomb sabotaging the 2nd line, PLD sucks, and the 4th line has been neutered BECAUSE PLD sucks and TM doesn't know what to do about it.

Would be a great time to try Moore-Danault-PLD and maybe try Turcotte at 3C but oh yeah, you were busy getting him killed on the third line in the AHL. And moving Lizotte up, much like moving Grundstrom up, doesn't work. so yet again, they've painted themselves into a corner.
