Either of Hanifin or Lindholm would be great obviously, but I think I'd be ok with a boring deadline this year if they went that route. All I really want is a resolution to the Debrusk saga, so either sign him or trade him. And from there just free up enough space to keep Lohrei up and bring Beecher back, and maybe give Lysell a look as well. Waiving Forbort gets that done, and the defense hasn't really missed him with Wotherspoon filling in.

Bjudstad is a player I would try and get.Darn good reliable player and hard to play against. Not sure cost cause he has cheap control of 1 more season but he would definitely help in playoff hockey.I said this twice and none ya'll like him.Your all blind :sarcasm::laugh:

It is called business. We got better because he moved that 1st.
Yes for sure but he caused it overpaying an old vet.

Well IMO, the playoffs will be like the 6 on 5. I think no acquisition will help. They to change their core to change that. Wasted assets this year. Last year was the one to go for it. Sell in the free agents to be.

To this day, that was one of the worst trades I've ever seen. Saved $0 on the Cap as we had to retain on Backes and he was already stashed in the AHL. Got Kase who was nothing.

We did not get any better from that deal. At all. And paid a first for the privilege.

Not a Sweeney hater (I've said for years that he's a mixed bag) and I think he's improved over time. But there was no defending that trade at the time. And there's especially no defending it now after we know everything else he did (or didn't) do at that deadline.

Sweeney usually makes his big move before TDL day. If not today I think it’ll be only small trades on friday

To this day, that was one of the worst trades I've ever seen. Saved very little cap (which wasn't used). Got Kase who was nothing. And still had to retain half of Backes' salary.

If Kase didn't have a skull made of Swiss cheese he'd have been a hell of a player and would've paired really well with Krejci.

But his injury issues were well known before the trade so it was a low percentage gamble that lost.

Definitely his worst trade by far but sometimes you have to take a loss to get better down the road.

Did you watch the Cup Final? The Blues hit everyone wearing the Spoked B and suffered little hitting in return. It was embarassing to witness a Bruins team getting beat at what should have been their own game.
I think people forget that on Jan 1 2019 the Blues were dead last in the entire league. The first 1/2 means nothing. It’s team health and playing great hockey when the playoffs start. A hot goalie also goes a long way.
