Yea if he gave a 1st for him I would be demanding he resignI don't think he'll touch the 1's. If he was going to, we'd probably have Henrique right now.

Exactly.Don is always in the middle of things, always. Comes out afterwards.
He does his job and he does it well. Works to improve the team, but not at crazy prices.
Wasn't his fault best team in history blew it big time and game 7 2019 cup final loss at home due to poor execution of team and coaching. He has done his job extremely well. Can't say that with no rings on fingers Donny.
It was Werenski they wanted, not HanifinI thought it was Hanifin he has wanted since 2015 draft.
Sweeney's like Captain Ahab trying to land that great whale but it keeps alluding him.
Don is same guy who ate a 1st on Backes deal to shed that bad contract..I like Donny but there are better GMs then him 4 sure.Exactly.
If you say so .Again I like Donny .Wasn't his fault best team in history blew it big time and game 7 2019 cup final loss at home due to poor execution of team and coaching. He has done his job extremely well.
It is called business. We got better because he moved that 1st.Don is same guy who ate a 1st on Backes deal to shed that bad contract..I like Donny but there are better GMs then him 4 sure.
Yes for sure but he caused it overpaying an old vet.It is called business. We got better because he moved that 1st.
To this day, that was one of the worst trades I've ever seen. Saved $0 on the Cap as we had to retain on Backes and he was already stashed in the AHL. Got Kase who was nothing. It is called business. We got better because he moved that 1st.
Guess this kind of sums up how the players feel about first round picks.
If Kase didn't have a skull made of Swiss cheese he'd have been a hell of a player and would've paired really well with Krejci. To this day, that was one of the worst trades I've ever seen. Saved very little cap (which wasn't used). Got Kase who was nothing. And still had to retain half of Backes' salary.
We did not get any better from that deal. At all. And paid a first for the privilege.
Not a Sweeney hater (I've said for years that he's a mixed bag) and I think he's improved over time. But there was no defending that trade at the time. And there's especially no defending it now after we know everything else he did (or didn't) do at that deadline.
Definitely his worst trade by far but sometimes you have to take a loss to get better down the road.To this day, that was one of the worst trades I've ever seen. Saved very little cap (which wasn't used). Got Kase who was nothing. And still had to retain half of Backes' salary.

I think people forget that on Jan 1 2019 the Blues were dead last in the entire league. The first 1/2 means nothing. It’s team health and playing great hockey when the playoffs start. A hot goalie also goes a long way.Did you watch the Cup Final? The Blues hit everyone wearing the Spoked B and suffered little hitting in return. It was embarassing to witness a Bruins team getting beat at what should have been their own game.
He pulled the Bertuzzi trade off early in the morning last year so it wouldn't surprise me if he pulled something off tonight.Sweeney usually makes his big move before TDL day. If not today I think it’ll be only small trades on friday
Pavel zacha for haula buries that bad trade in the closet .To this day, that was one of the worst trades I've ever seen. Saved $0 on the Cap as we had to retain on Backes and he was already stashed in the AHL. Got Kase who was nothing.

It didn't make us better down the road. It made us worse because we lost the pick.Definitely his worst trade by far but sometimes you have to take a loss to get better down the road.
Funny stuff from Rupp, haha.
The comment I was responding to was the claim that paying a first round pick to get rid of Backes made the Bruins better. It didn't.Pavel zacha for haula buries that bad trade in the closet .
