Speculation: 2023-24-25 Sharks Roster Discussion

What, not Georgiev?

Why the hell would he do that when Georgiev is far and away the #1 reason we're going to have the best draft lottery odds again?
Sharks Hockey:

Game 1 "I'm excited to see how the team improves!"
Game 2 "If we lose these specific 61 games we should be able to stay ahead of 31st place.
Game 5: "I've been doing a ton of research on the 2028 draft pool"

I got a fun one:

Georgiev

For

Grubs
2026 2nd
Dragicevic

Askarov gets most of the starts over Grubs next year and we still get to lose a ton when Grubs starts. Contract falls off when big names need to be signed or you just buy him out after next season. Not like we are using the dollars right now. We get a good 2nd and a right handed offense-first defense prospect.

Easy. Plus he’s German. Hasso will be thrilled.

Georgiev is just so Seattle gets a goalie back.

Grub as two more years after this. I'm not taking him for anything less than Catton

Seattle will just buy him out at that rate as opposed to give up assets they need in order to move him.

Could this be it?

Hischier announced as out for a month or so. Doubtful this is it this early, but you never know.

I am honestly shocked if this is true but reports that Brandt Clarke RHD 6'2 is on the trade block? I personally would be very interested and with the recent quote from Grier on "keeping an eye out on any situations like (Askarov)" this could fit the bill but I am guessing the Kings are looking for some win now pieces. I wouldn't mind giving up something like Granlund or maybe Zetterlund + Ferraro as the Kings could use an upgrade at LD on their third pairing. Anyone else interested in Clarke and what do you think a deal looks like?

Sure, but why would LA do that? The ask would be a lot higher if there was even any truth to that.

Yeah it honestly doesn't make sense and probably isn't true. Especially considering Gavrikov is a UFA after this year, all I can think of is they want to go all in and win now and think they can actually do it with Kopitar/Doughty (who aren't getting any younger).

Not to mention they're not exactly bursting with D prospects.
