Yeah, Pinto is really killing it this year. He may hit 25 points!I still remember how hard the online prospect experts ripped Ottawa for picking Shane Pinto over Kaliyev. It's almost like those people have no idea what they're talking about.
Isn't he an American? I'm kind of interested in him but he's basically in the mold of a Labanc or Hoffman and he hasn't come close to their kind of production. And lots of Russians on the team to help him.
I will say one factor every guy Grier brings in has is that high end motor/compete. I don’t know much about Kaliyev other than he has a lot of skill/good shot and speed, but I don’t think he has the compete thing going for him.

Fair, yeah, I doubt Grier is interested.
Kaliyev grew up in New York. Grier would never betray his Boston roots* associating with those types.
*yes, I am aware that Grier is actually from Detroit. But he seems to have a stronger affinity for Massachusetts. He's probably got a childhood friend named Sully and everything.
I didn't know the Canadian connection, but I did know he sadly passed away very youngThat show was everywhere on TV here when it was new because it counted as a Canadian production for content laws (to prevent Canadian TV channels from just buying American-made content on the cheap and killing Canadian productions, it's government mandated that a certain percentage of shows on a Canadian channel has to be made in Canada by Canadian staff and stars.) and one of the band members (the young one) was from Vancouver. Then it became a big deal because he got cancer and became a big voice in advocacy and fundraising and I think died in the middle of production of the series or whatever.
Also if I'm not mistaken the random older guy is Chris Farley's brother.
We will take your secondPanthers fan asking if Jan Rutta can still play top 4 D and what his trade value is?
He's playing 17 minutes a game, down from 20 last year. Ceci and Liljegren ahead of him on right side.
Is his skating still holding up, I remember him well from the Tampa Cup runs.
Well hitting on defensive defensemen and elite role players is hard. Beyond trading back in 2022, one thing I'm disappointed in is not taking swings on guys who played pro and have some size, or many who have the potential to be role players+ but instead picking overagers.THE HARDEST PART OF TANKING IS
Hitting your, draft piiiiii-i-i-i-icks
You were one of his biggest cheerleaders in 2019! What happened to change your mind?Hard pass on Kaliyev.
She liked the *real* KaliyevYou were one of his biggest cheerleaders in 2019! What happened to change your mind?
I think you're confusing me for someone else. I thought that he was a good pick but nothing more than that. I didn't follow the 2019 draft even a little bit.You were one of his biggest cheerleaders in 2019! What happened to change your mind?
What’s the over/under on that oneYeah, Pinto is really killing it this year. He may hit 25 points!

I’ve always found it funny how I’ve always heard no one wants to play here but the moment they play here they love it and want to stay. The only guy off the top of my head that I can remember that was hell bent on leaving was Brian Campbell and that was mainly because he wanted to be closer to family.
