- Avs trade nothing for RyJo
- Kicked tires on PLD, but likely price was too high
- Son of Bednar may or may not be re-signed
- EJ not likely to be brought back

With RyJo and Newhook, I don't know if they are still looking for a middle 6 C.

I could see the Avs doing something like this over the next week. Keeps the Defense together for another year and actually even stronger next year with Clifton being a massive ugprade on EJ.


The forwards are still pretty thin IMO, but its got some potential. If RyJo can bounce back to being a legit 60 point 2C, the Top 6 is probably pretty strong again. Drouin will be the wildcard but if he's mostly useless you can always look to add a Top 6 winger at next years deadline.

I think that bottom 6 would have the potential to be pretty good. Kampf + Bonino down the middle would be an upgrade over what we had last year, Sharangovich is a stud as well obviously.

I think that group would easily be strong enough to keep us towards the top of the division again next year and then they can re-evaluate at the trade deadline and decide what area to target for upgrades and a deep playoff run at that point.


The only trade made here was trading our 2023 1st(#27) to NJD for Sharangovich's rights + NJD 2023 2nd(#58). Basically would put Sharangovich's value at a high 2nd round pick which I think is fair.

Avs can't draft outside of the top 10. Much rather have players to win it all. I'm starting to think that if Toews is gone the team gonna have a bad time in his own end without not much to outmuscle opponents.

At this point I think the Avs are most likely done with trades. They'll go bottom of the barrel scraping for a third line RD and bottom six winger that they'll try to play in the middle six and call it a summer.

Then we get to start 'Devon Toews is getting uncomfortably close to UFA' watch.

Jordan Staal just signed age 35-39 for 2.9. That deal would pay JTC 3.9 until 36. I'd say that's why.

I've seen Armia mentioned as a retention/buyout candidate. The Avs have been linked to him in the past.

Any others come to mind?
