I like that the Celtics put on a mini show for Marcus. For me, it was not about his basketball abilities but rather his attitude as a player. There never was any Quit in Marcus Smart on and off the floor. Sure, he was the Defensive Player of the Year, but a more impressive award for me was the Mr. Hustle Award. Marcus Smart gave back to the Boston Community.

Thank you, Marcus Smart.

At half-time, the score was 70 - 50. Double that for a final score of 140 - 100. Joe Mazzulla always speaks of the lesson to learn. I have learned so far that Memphis has a lot of injured players, and their defense is missing. I have also learned, and I hope Joe has also, that the Celtics can win, assuming little changes, without Jaylen Brown, who is bored on the bench, hurt. Also, the Celtics only had 3 TOs as a team at halftime. Brown usually has 2 or 3 TOs himself by halftime.

I like that move a lot

Edit: Lamar Stevens going the other way too, which means they still have the Grant Williams TPE

Setting his "all for the Celtics team" attitude aside, Jaylen Brown agreed to be the first NBA All-Star player to take part in the Slam Dunk Contest. Jaylen claims that his fans demanded that he participate in this contest.

Well, don't let your fans down, Jaylen; win this thing.

For your information, there are only four contestants taking part. Last year's winner from the G-league Mac McClung, Jacob Toppin (Knicks), Jaime Jaquez Jr (Miami) & Our All-Star, Jaylen Brown.

2008 championship team member. Pollard’s Planet. Such a goofy dude, I hope he gets that extra large heart he needs

According to ESPN the 2 picks going to Memphis are:

- 2027 2nd round pick ( from Atlanta ) Boston got this pick by trading PF Mouhamed Gueye to Atlanta on June 28 - 2023
- 2030 2nd round pick ( from Dallas ) Boston got this pick as part of the Grant Williams trade to Dallas on July 12 - 2023

Getting guard Jaden Springer from Philly for a 2nd

Interesting move. Good defender, he’s been getting some run lately

Banton to Portland for a heavily protected 2nd to reduce their luxury tax penalty a little bit

I’d post the links but Apartheid Clyde puts a limit on tweets you can view and I am all used up

Still have a roster spot for a buyout guy or a Queta conversion

....Oladipo just got waived by Memphis....

Didn't he just willingly go to a Celtics game a few weeks ago for no reason?

Hmmm

Damn. I didn't realize it was that bad
Patellar tendon this time and he’s already had a really bad quad issue. Looking into it now and it seems like *maybe* he can make it back by the end of the year but it’s no certainty. I don’t think he could play in a rotation on a good team this year regardless
