This is actually kinda clever.
Dougie has been portrayed as aloof, and/or a bit of a malcontent. But he seems affable in this clip.
It's a bit of a slap in the face the B's open for Florida's banner raising. But to the victor go the spoils.
They can wait in the tunnel, as some on Florida's opening night roster will, considering the players they've already lost - Montour, Tarasenko, Lomberg, OEL, Stenlund, Okposo (likely gone), Stolarz.
Eh, they can have their moment....and hopefully meet our new defenseman right after

From tomorrow’s Globe:
The tourney will made up with squads from the United States, Canada, Finland, and Sweden, and also will make for an exhausting finish to the regular-season schedule.
Ostensibly, all 32 teams will be pressed into playing every other night when play resumes on Saturday Feb. 22, leaving the 16 playoff qualifiers to enter into Cup play facing the prospect of playing every other night through four rounds. Potentially, that’s four months with only a game off between opening puck drops. No pro sport wrings out labor’s bones like the NHL.
Consider the Bruins: They’ll play 25 times over the last 53 days, with an added twist of difficulty — all but eight of their final 22 games will be on the road. Bartender, a round of Pedialyte popsicles for our pals here in short pants and long socks.
Tampa Bay coach Jon Cooper will call the shots behind Canada’s entry. The two-time Cup champ flashed a smile in Las Vegas, just prior to the draft last weekend, when asked what it will be like to have Bruins captain Brad Marchand under his direction.
“I’ll tell you a story,” said the ever-gracious Cooper. “We had the All-Star game in Tampa [in 2018] . . . My mother, who unfortunately recently passed, she was a huge Brad Marchand fan. And all she wanted to do was meet him.”
Fulfilling the role of dutiful son, Cooper sought out Marchand at one of the gala reception gigs that weekend. Anything for mom. No surprise, Marchand turned on the charm like it was water pouring out the back end of a Zamboni.
“I had to seek out Brad . . . for my mom,” recalled Cooper, a slight trace of mock pain in his voice. “And he could not have been more of a gentleman. He took the best pictures with her. He was fired up because he was taller than her and that was good for him. Really, he made my mom’s night and I can’t thank him enough.”

Eh, Savoie has had some huge question marks around his health with repetitive shoulder injuries from what I've read. Ironically the same thing that ended Oscar Klefbom's career. I'm thinking they didn't have any other takers, or the return was even worse from other teams.

5-9 winger with shoulder problems. McLeod is the type of player Buffalo needs. They are trying at least this offseason to give some identity to their team. Won't work, but A for effort

That's a bit of a shame. Some folks around the Bruins and on here were quite high on him a few years ago. I don't watch Providence so can't really comment on his play, but just looking at his numbers no doubt they never reached the levels you might have hoped for, and he was clearly overtaken in the pecking order by Bussi. For whatever reason, just hasn't been quite able to get it together I suppose.
With Keyser gone and Bussi seemingly passed over such that his future in Boston is uncertain, our home-grown goalie stocks have taken a bit of a hit of late. At least we have Sway.
Anyway, good luck to Kyle in Europe. Always seemed like a nice kid.

Laraque was a good fighter because he was twice as strong as everyone else. Not because he had a great strategy IMO.
no, Keyser was an enigma to say the least..... once the acquisition of DiPietro (and even that was a questioned move at the time) Keyser was almost like Providence or nothing.... it's a wonder the organization didn't suspend him when you're being passed by Bussi, when you balk at playing in the ECHL.... WHICH happened....
Happened in what sense? Ultimately Keyser went to Maine and played there. Not very well perhaps, but at the very least he showed up. How reluctant/defiant was he?
entitled and thought the ECHL was below his capabilities.... one of the reasons why non prospected G were playing ahead of him even veteran G that weren't necessarily or had and then Bussi's rise through the organization combined with the acquisition of DiPietro, who had loads of AHL Time w/ Abbotsford.... believe at one point, the organization assigned Keyser from PRO to Maine and u have a 3 day window to report.... Keyser was the extra nobody knew what exactly to do w/ him, even in Providence at times,
