Such a classy player. Shame he had so many injury woes, especially with concussions, recently. Formed one of the best CB pairings with Martinez that United have had since Rio-Vidic.
Applying that logic, every time a club gets in trouble they can continually create new shell companies and sell off parts of the club in an endless loop and it would never trace to the main club.

This stat is dumb because it ignores Aston Villa and Newcastle who are actually in 4th and 6th place.
Yet it wasn't dumb when Liverpool were "big game monsters" in recent years...This stat is dumb because it ignores Aston Villa and Newcastle who are actually in 4th and 6th place.
I imagine Arsenal still finishes highly because they are very good, but this is such dumb framing.
Saying you are unbeaten in the big six, and not including the 4th and 6th place teams is dumb. Period. That’s the point here. We can argue if the concept of there being a “big 6” (there isn’t) but you can’t argue where teams currently are in the table. Big six, I guess is based on commercialism. It’s not based on talent. It’s bad framing.Yet it wasn't dumb when Liverpool were "big game monsters" in recent years...
I didn't bother to look up other teams' results, but if you added Aston Villa and Newcastle, Arsenal would be on 25 points, which would be at the very least tied for first.
It's a data point. One that only you seem to be reading into more than necessary. Pretty sure us Arsenal fans are more focused on the league table than the "big 6" table, but sure... go off on how dumb it is!Saying you are unbeaten in the big six, and not including the 4th and 6th place teams is dumb. That's not what the Big 6 means, or has ever meant. This stat is dumb because it ignores Aston Villa and Newcastle who are actually in 4th and 6th place.

Which is why Big 6, as a concept itself, is dumbThat's not what the Big 6 means, or has ever meant.
Arsenal fan is the one that posted this so….It's a data point. One that only you seem to be reading into more than necessary. Pretty sure us Arsenal fans are more focused on the league table than the "big 6" table, but sure... go off on how dumb it is!
Yeah an Arsenal fan posted it. But if you notice, he didn't say something like "wow look, we should be winning the league easily with how much better we are than the rest of the big 6 head to head." Only you have overreacted to it.Arsenal fan is the one that posted this so….
dang, suddenly want Spurs to win today so that we can stay in 2nd
I don’t think I am the one overreacting here?Yeah an Arsenal fan posted it. But if you notice, he didn't say something like "wow look, we should be winning the league easily with how much better we are than the rest of the big 6 head to head." Only you have overreacted to it.
No one said thisLast season we shouldn’t count teams like Newcastle since it was a down year but this year it’s suddenly fine.
Irrelevant and inconsequentialIt's a table that shows Liverpool in fourth and well behind Arsenal. Of course the Liverpool fan has issues. Nothing more, nothing less.

Are you saying this is a down year? And guess what? Since Liverpool were in the titlerace for like 34-35 games we haven’t heard a single word about a down year. Crazy huh?
London team fans gotta support each other todaydang, suddenly want Spurs to win today so that we can stay in 2nd
Are you saying this is a down year?
wouldn't poor performances from english teams in europe this year validate the opinion that last year was the down yearIf you look at how the english teams performed in Europe i would say it’s more of a down year then it was last year.
I think that’s fair. I think you can look at that and you can look at needing less than 90 points to win that league and make that conclusion. Don’t have anything wrong with that.If you look at how the english teams performed in Europe i would say it’s more of a down year then it was last year.
way to steal the punchlinewouldn't poor performances from english teams in europe this year validate the opinion that last year was the down year
because the teams who unexpectedly qualified for europe based on last year proved to be out of their depth this year
i don't want to wade into any 'down year' discourse, i just don't think you're making the point you think you are here

But yeah I mean I think while this year has been competitive, I don’t think it’s been great. I certainly don’t the the product has been great, but I think a big part of it is the two teams at the top realized there are too many games so they didn’t want to run as much

The question, of course, is whether those teams are bad this year or were other teams bad last year. Probably a bit of both, especially looking at the injury issues of a team like Newcastle (along with the group they were in).because the teams who unexpectedly qualified for europe based on last year proved to be out of their depth this year
Not disagreeing with your entire point, but part of that is some of those teams having quality players to perform well in the league last year, but not enough depth to play twice a week in Europe.wouldn't poor performances from english teams in europe this year validate the opinion that last year was the down year
