wait, the PL cleared 777? I thought they hadn't, and were still going through the owners and directors tests b/c of the other teams that 777 own
Unless they cleared them in the last couple weeks, they haven't cleared them yet.

Here's an article from a couple weeks ago that has the deal still stalled:

Crazy that Fowler did this twice. And only with four penalties across the two seasons. The hype on him if he was around during social media would have been ridiculous. Purely from a finishing standpoint one of the best England has ever produced

Crazy how fast out the gate he was. Never as good as the similarly precocious Owen (all around game so so so much better), but Jesus Christ could he score.

So this is fun.

After beating Tottenham today, it is confirmed that no team completely a domestic double against Klopp’s LFC. Very cool stat

Not sure the asking price and if their new stadium is going to be owned by the club or the municipality, but if the price isn’t too high and the stadium is owned by the club I think Everton would be an attractive option for a prospective buyer.

Their value will probably never be lower , especially if they have to run from 777

Points deduction has been upheld. Glad this is dealt with before the final two games so we see what happens. Likely comes down to the last game against Burnley but they’ve put it in their own hands and have only themselves to blame if Forest is relegated now

At present, the relegation scrap looks like this:

17: Forest - 29 points - -18
18: Luton - 26 points - -29
19: Burnley - 24 points - -35

For the good of society (and for the good of an awesome and dramatic final day), I hope the following happens:

1. Luton and Burnley win their matches on Saturday afternoon against West Ham and Spurs, respectively. These wins would leave them at 29 points and 27 points, with Luton still outside on goal difference.
2. Nottingham Forest lose to Chelsea on Saturday evening (this is required to keep Burnley alive). This would leave them at 29 points still, but safe on goal difference.
3. Luton beat a Fulham side that has basically checked out on the final day - leaving them at 32.
4. Burnley beat Nottingham Forest, hoping that Luton lose to Fulham.

In such a scenario, Luton end at 32, Burnley at 30, and Forest at 29. Luton stay up, Forest down.

For maximal final day fun, Burnley need to still be in it, so they really have to beat Spurs this weekend.

Asking for a friend, but would it be so bad if Everton collapsed?

(bad joke obviously).

How 777 even got past some initial discussions is beyond me. the people checking owners don't really care about much.
