Here's the chart sorted by games played with showing the full x axis:
Also it's fairly dumb to look at *average* time between games when analyzing a complaint like "too many Saturday noon kickoffs" or "we played midweek and they didn't, why do they play Sunday and we play Saturday" since, by definition, those types of decisions are irrelevant when related to *average* time between games.
A more relevant metric there might be number of times games within X hours or even median rest time.

Also comparing it to the continent is skewed because none of the other major leagues have two cup competitions. If you have beef, take it up with the existence of the EFL Cup.
Also also, the big thing here is that the coaches who bitch and moan about fixture congestion the loudest are the same ones with squads deep enough to rotate and thereby withstand fixture congestion. Unfortunately, those coaches DON'T f***ING ROTATE.
Players play way too many fixtures now. That is the actual problem. And the coaches who take on martyr positions about scheduling actually do not care about that.

I will say, for the first time in a long time, Klopp has actually been good about rotation this season althoguh that has not been by choice, necessarily.

West Ham intend to part company with David Moyes at the end of the season and are already looking at replacements for the Scot

They’re not getting Amorim, I’m just glad Moyes hasn’t wriggled out of this one. He stabilized the team and won a trophy, not insignificant - but the football is just dire at this point and he’s definitely reached his ceiling at the club.

Yea that's kinda like crediting ETH for rotating his back line a lot this season. He's been kinda forced into it.

You know the funny thing here (and this is definitely a fair observation) Klopp was rotating great for most of the season. About a month ago, when the team started getting healthier is when he went back to some old habits. Which of course coincided with LFC form going in the toilet. Shortened the bench too early/forced guys into too many minutes/tried to play too many guys into form at the same time. It really backfired on him; but Klopp was pushing (mostly) all the right buttons until mid March.

Really weird to name drop the most successful manager ever after you've been there for less than 2 years. But cool for them.

I agree, but I think the owners have ambitions that Unai will stay for the long term (and that’s more what they mean)

It seems to be working out really well for them and the team is playing great, so the extension makes sense. I don't really understand the desire to presumptively renew him beyond 2027 at this point though. 2027 would already be 1 year longer than he's ever been at a club before, so it seems to make more sense to extend him to 2027 now and then if next year is also going great you maybe bump it out next summer or something.
Suppose it doesn't matter either way, it's not my money and the owners certainly have enough of it to spend.

He's likely willing to stay for a while. Happy to be the 3rd or 4th best team, maybe in a down year, make a run. They back him, he keeps them hanging around there. Probably good for both.

Arsenal currently has the most goals for, the fewest goals against, and the most clean sheets, and the most wins yet is still not the favorites for the title.
Admittedly, if City win their next two (and are thus even on GP), they will be level for most wins and if they score 6 or more goals in those hypothetical wins, they'd be at worst even in terms of goal scored, but still.

Not to draw attention away from the new matter, but this stood out:
"The expectation at the time was that Greenwood would never play for United again, but new part-owner Sir Jim Ratcliffe opened the door for a potential return. Reports in late February suggested Greenwood has 'no great desire' to play for United again and is 'reluctant' to return to Old Trafford. It was said Greenwood feels the club 'could have supported him better' over his case."
Greenwood is still a POS, who could have guessed. Not sure how the club could have supported him more than basically saying "if you saw this other evidence, you'd believe he didn't do it" in a press release when anyone with more than two brain cells knows he was guilty.
