Nice to get Alexandrov some AHL time without risking waivers. He can't sit in the press box all year.

From the outside looking in, it appears Vrana did what was asked of him in the AHL. I'm interested to see what Bannister wants to do with him in the NHL. I have to believe this is Vrana's last chance to earn an NHL contract for next year. Here's hoping that Bannister wipes the slate clean., Vrana takes it seriously and he can start burying pucks if/when he gets back in the lineup.
Agreed on both. Vrana has plus speed and shot. Needs to utilize it w/o being a complete detriment in other areas of the game.

And glad they were able to use the “conditioning” loophole on Alexandrov. He needs to play some games. Hopefully he can eventually take the next step in his career.

The Blues have definitely played more consistent since Berube was let go. I still think they need to be sellers at the deadline.

The Blues will be competing with Nashville, Seattle, Arizona, Edmonton, Calgary, and Minnesota for 2 wild card spots.

The prospect pool took a good step forward last year. The organization really needs another big influx of prospects from this upcoming draft.

I don’t see a lot of value with our UFAs this year. Maybe able to add a couple of 2nd at the deadline. 1 for Kap, and hopefully Varna goes on a scoring streak, but not sure if his value.

I think I'd rather resign Kapenen if we can't get at least a 2nd for him. He's a solid bottom 6 NHL player who can kill penalties. He uses his speed fairly well and goes into the corners hard to win pucks. He can probably fill in on the top 6 for a couple of games in a pinch and not look totally out of place. The money and term would have to be right through, I don't think I'd go above 2M AAV on a 2-3 year contract.

We have a lot of young guys coming up soon, we still need quality veteran players to ease the transition and Kapenen seems like a guy who cares and plays hard no matter how the team is doing.

That would be about the max I’d go with Kapanen. Like most of our roster, he’s very meh. Now that’s he’s played 60 games with the Blues, I can see why he’s bounced around the last few years.

You just explained why Kapanen isn't going to get a 2nd, unless you've got some argument for Kapanen being a world-class guy on the PK.

I still think it's a 3rd for Scandella, a 4th for Kapanen. Sundqvist could go as high as a 3rd because he's got a Cup to his name, but I think that might be pushing it and it might take a low pick from our side to push that return up. Anything above that, we're sending pieces across as part of getting that higher pick and it undercuts any "but we got ___ for him" claim.

Since I no longer live in STL I only get to see home games when im back in town visiting and I've actually seen more away games than home games over the last few seasons. I've been able to go to games in San Jose, Vegas, Nashville, Tampa, DC and most recently Raleigh. After leaving the game vs the Canes on Saturday my wife and I were complimentary of their music selection.

It's made me realize just how bad the Enterprise Center DJ is, they must be really scraping the bottom of the barrel for DJ talent in the area. You'd think that position would be highly competitive and sought after.

I hope in the coming years they can upgrade the in arena entertainment.

The best DJ we had in this area now works for the Golden Knights as a marketing consultant.. Besides, the last game I went to, they played The Proclaimers...

We have a terrible goal song (yeah, I really am going to go there), why would the in-arena DJ be any better?

The NHL for the most part has to pay for the rights to any music that's played in any arena. That's why you hear the same songs in every arena throughout the league. They'll never have a DJ spinning whatever he wants.

Our goal song sucks and I cant believe it's still being used.

Loved Torts unprompted calling out that crappy reporter and defending Kevin Hayes:

Torts: "Is the guy here that caused Kevin Hayes a problem?"

ASF: "Yes"

Torts: "Are you kidding me? You think Kevin Hayes is going to do something like that? That’s (b.s.). It just pisses me off that you guys throw that (stuff) around and affect someone’s life. Kevin Hayes and I had a problem and we couldn’t come to an agreement how to play. That’s a good man. That’s a good man. And what you said is going to stay with him. That’s what you guys don’t understand. You’re going to sit there and say you have the right sources. I call (b.s.)."
