Garrett Metcalf who was under contract with the Colorado Eagles has announcement his retirement due to injuries. Since turning pro in 2021, Metcalf has played mostly for the Utah Grizzlies of the ECHL. He also add a couple of AHL stints with Lehigh Valley and San Diego. Metcalf had been limited to 4 ECHL games this season.


No official announcement but Cale Morris seems to have sign an AHL contract with Coachella. Morris joined Coachella on a "PTO" in mid-December and he'll now return to the ECHL on a "reassignment".

Thompson joins Manheim of the DEL. He registered 2 points in 12 games this season.

UFA news/updates (2023 offseason)
- Brett Gallant (Cleveland) recently signed by Laval (LNAH).
- Lynden McCallum (Henderson) recovering from shoulder injury, training with his former WHL club and aiming for a return this month.
- Jordan Kawaguchi (Texas) initially announced his retirement but has recently signed with Idaho (ECHL). Part of the roster since January 17 but has yet to play a game.
- Marek Mitens (Utica) signed by the Czech club of Kladno.
- Jamie Devane (Wilkes-Barres/Scranton) now works as a player agent.
