WC: 2022 Women's World Championships

I'll never forget the 2012 Women's World Championship held in Vermont.

In the preliminary round the US beat Canada 9-2.

In the Gold medal game Canada beat the US 5-4 in overtime.

When teams are this evenly matched, it is so hard to win back to back.

If it was a 7 game series, it would go 7.

I'm straight, but Hilary Knight is gorgeous if we're going to go there.
Yes, she is very pretty. :)

This happens every single world Juniors. Some underdog team beats a contender in round robin and everyone declares the contender DOA.lol.

Or NHL... Winning in regular season and winning a cup are two different things.
I just wish there were more competitive teams. It REALLY hurts the women's game when you KNOW who will be in the GMG.
Agreed ... Semis were not even close.

North America 18
Czechs and swiss 3

True but.... Would you bet your last $100 on it NOT being a Can/US final?

I wouldn't.

It's crazy. I don't know why the gap has not closed (more than it has).
It’s technically only been a little over one full generation since women’s hockey really started catching on.

Think of how long it takes for children to grow into adult hockey players, and then realize most countries were literally starting from zero.

What we’re watching is literally the first/second generation of female hockey players from some of these countries.

I have this theory that Canada is pulling away in both men's and women's hockey. Things are damn good for the Canucks lately.

I hope you're right. :)

That's true but I wish it would happen more quickly - it really hurts the women's game.

There is no way to speed up time unfortunately (that we know of).

But some promising signs. Peslarova is probably one of the two best goalies in the world.
