All this talk about the Yankees being so much further ahead than the Blue Jays and the rest of the teams was bunk. Quite frankly their 8 game lead is flattering to them. The Yankees look like shit right now. I think we are the best team in this division. I know, we haven't proved that yet but I think we will.
Yankees pitching isn't as deadly as it was in April-June. Some due to injuries and others due to regression, pitching has been a huge reason why they were so dominant earlier this year

Outside of Aaron Judge, their offense is honestly meh

The Yankees are getting some guys back from injury. Stanton will be a boost to their offense.

They aren't this bad but they definitely weren't as good as they were.

I am also curious if Judge will re-sign with them. He's a great player but not sure if his body will hold up too long for a long expensive contract.

-Severino injured
-Montgomery traded (for some reason)

+Montas a tire fire
+Taillon garbage since July 1st

I think they'll be fine once Severino comes back. But they need Montas to turn it around.

Tbf based on this season if you replaced the yanks and jays in that paragraph and the word lead to deficit that would also apply

Even against a struggling Yankees team, I wanted a split. Well we won the first 2 games, so losing 2 now would leave a bit of a sour taste so lets get at least one of the next 2 game. Pitching is coming through.

These next two against Cole and Cortes will be the hardest matchups of the series. Cole’s been hittable and we have Manoah going up against Cortes so hoping for one blowup from their starters (or at least keep it close since their bullpen has been weak).

I know they haven't played close to their best baseball yet, let the season play out and we will see who goes further. I think the Jays still have a great shot to prove they are the best. We'll see. I know that the Yankees have not played their best baseball lately either.

For second there I thought "Why are they listing Zimmer by his first name only...and didn't we lose him to Philly?" Then I remembered we signed JBJ. Sorry, been out of touch lately. How has Bradley been since he came over?

That lineup is admittedly kinda garbo but at the same time, the Yankees have been garbo for most of the month.

Resting your guys for the Yankees best pitcher in Nasty Nestor when you've already taken 2 seems like a smart move.

Why are we shifting on a player that doesn't even have a major league hit to his name and was something like 0 for 16?

That player can run but it was potentially a double play spot. I don't mind the shift but sometimes it feels like it goes too far.
