Could have swept them orrrr could have been swept. It’s only one series but some members of this staff should be shot to the moon….yes looking at you Merryweather, Saucedo, Thornton. Ryu and Berrios…it’s early. Allowed 23 runs and still won the series.

Tapia hasn't impressed me a whole lot, unless you count his negative launch angle
Didn't you hear? It's all about Pinto!

But really, still too early to say. Most guys are still in spring training mode.

Negative: pretty much everything else lol.

This is why I said the Jays still haven't addressed all of their problems. You still have Montoya throwing out fringe players in clutch situations.

It’s 3 games into the season LOL. Give it a rest

I mean he's not wrong. For me the bullpen needs to be better and that goes back to last year not just 3 games. The starters going only 8.2 innings in 3 games (an average of less then 3 innings per game) really put Saucedo and Thornton into meaningful innings earlier then one would have liked which sort of exposes our lack of quality depth. They acquired 1 good bullpen arm in the offseason and they needed to do more imo. Luckily we have 5 or 6 good arms in the pen (Romano, Garcia, Mayza, Cimber, Richards, Phelps) so if our starters are going deep (5-6 innings per game) our bullpen should be able to handle things. Our team is built around our good rotation so if those guys are going good, we should be good. But if they don't go deep, we're kind of screwed when we rely on our depth guys (until minor leaguers start coming up and replacing guys like Saucedo). Constrast that to the Rays who rely more heavily on their bullpen and have like 10+ good arms in the system for their bullpen and they are essentially resistant proof to their starters sucking. It's the biggest difference between us and them but there aren't many teams built like the Rays. Finding another 2-3 arms for the bullpen during the regular season is the teams biggest need. Second would be an upgrade on Tapia but with Zimmer and Tapia as bench guys it's not really an issue for me unless Montoyo over plays them.

I’d say 7 arms because Stripling as the long relief and spot start guy isint bad at all. Saucedo can gtfo though.
I'm ok with Stripling in long relief and Thornton would be ok to have around if he's like our 13th best option not our 9th or 10th best option, it would be more ideal.

What did Thornton do wrong? He's given up 1 run in 4 IP. Like he's not great, but he was far far from shoot him to the moon bad...

Vladdy is getting good at tagging the runner. Though they need to work on that so he doesn't have to do it so often.

The mere presence of Matt Chapman's intensity means everyone gets a +10 to all defense attributes.

...except for Bo for some reason.
