Devils are not signing Gaudreau. If anyone but the Flames I’d say Flyers .
Where is Nicushkin ? I thought he was a UFA but don’t see him listed ?
Same as Copp and Rackell ? I’d consider them somewhat bigger name UFA’s ?

You gotta think that this is the end for PK Subban. His ego is too big to play for 1M a year.

I think this is a pretty decent list overall.

I don't think Kessel is going to Minnesota just based on the Fiala talk however. Kessel would have to sign a tiny deal to make that work.

Forsberg to LA would be monstrous and I could see it happening.

Don't think Ottawa signs anyone on the list with the exception of Giroux - if he wants to go there as has been suggested. I think it'll be Florida though as you said.

I don't think any of the big names are going to Anaheim, maybe one or two guys that bring some toughness back, but not Kadri/Forsberg level guys. Ducks aren't far enough through their rebuild to draw in those guys yet.

No justification to sign 28/29 year old top end ufas if you are not ready to contend in the next couple of seasons. Wasting 2-3 years of their remaining 4/5 prime years. Ana dealt Lindholm who was drafted in the same years as Forsberg.

Exactly, plus it would take an overpay to get them here (most of those guys haven't won a Cup and most likely want to) and the taxes here are high. The contract it would take to get them here would handcuff the team when they are ready to compete. My expectation is more of stuff like the failed Dadonov trade... short term cap dumps of useful but overpaid players and a pick to take them.

How is Toronto affording one of the premier UFA goalies? Are they trading out salary, expecting a discount, or not giving raises to their RFA?

-Gaudreau to New Jersey (hometown)
...
i wouldn't expect out of area folks to know this,
but FYI if Gaudreau has a hometown team he desires, it is Flyers not Devils
where he grew up is ~100 miles south of Devils arena and solid Flyers territory

but NJ could be interested, he'd be good alongside either Nico or Jack

... Vicent Trocheck - NYR ...
unless Trochek comes in much lower Cap Hit than re=rigning Strome or Copp, probably not
NYR only have Cap Space to add 1 biggish Hit deal, for #2 C
they already have Bread, Zib, Fox, Trouba, Kreider, Shesty consuming $~50M next few seasons

Reportedly Rust is looking at 6x6 Tampa can't afford him. Probably signs with the hometown Red Wings.
