Next year could be interesting as a number of the UFA's are at the age where they need to take a pay cut if they want to play with a contending team. Guys like Giroux, Subban, Pavelski. On the list above, I would be shocked if the following didn't re-sign with their existing teams: Malkin, Letang, Bergeron, Barkov, Brown, Coutourier. The rest are all ones that could easily test free agency.
Evgeni Malkin - extension at current rate
Marc-André Fleury - retires
Patrice Bergeron - 2 or 3 year extension at current rate
Aleksander Barkov - long term, 9-10 M per year
Colton Parayko - long term, $9M at least, unless his injury related issues persist.
Sean Couturier - long term (5 years?), 8M per year
John Klingberg - long term 8-9M per year.

Isles have roughly $35m in cap space for next year (not including anything eaten up by the unannounced signings). The only 2 major names on the roster to sign in 2022 are Dobson and Pulock. I can see Ryan getting an extention to match Pelech with a higher AAV due to is offensive upside.

My bold prediction is that one of Ryan Strome or Vincent Trocheck will be a Cane by next offseason, based on whichever one is willing to take a contender's contract. IMO, Trocheck either takes the hometown discount to stick around in Carolina, somewhere around a 5x5.5M, or gets regally overpaid in UFA. For some reason, I suspect that Pittsburgh or Vegas could give him the Kevin Hayes pact.

The rumour is Hertl wants to stay in SJ. I wonder if he goes the RNH route and does 8 years for 5.5. A shorter term deal I could see like 7 x 6 years.

if he leaves SJ I’m going to predict he gets an 8x8 or even more. Teams will just go crazy trying to get a guy like Hertl

Who's going to pay Subban 3x$5m!? I'll be surprise if he gets more than a 1 year prove-it deal, at a lower cap hit than $5m for sure.

RD market is pretty nutty.
For mid-late 20s in-their-prime players, not over-the-hill declining-for-years kind like Subban. But seeing how insane it was this offseason, I guess I shouldn't doubt that one GM is stupid enough to give Subban the contract you predicted.

Not really interested in many of them for the canucks except maybe parayuk if we can trade myers away.

Assuming barkov signs with florida again which he will

It would be insane to see what Barkov could get in the open market but I see no way in hell he moves. Panthers are a very good team and the location is not too shabby along with the tax breaks he gets . Bergeron is the one of the bunch that is for sure not going anywhere . Unless something catastrophic happens he will retire a Bruin .

Parayko at 5.5 and Reilly at 8.5 ???!! Gaudreau making 1.5 mil more than Forsberg seems a little off but good list . It’s hard to guess how much and where some guys sign
Oh course there are tons of guys I’d love to sign but most of those guys won’t leave ever - Bergeron Barkov Couturier Giroux . It will be interesting to see if Forsberg will want to test the market if Preds are in a rebuild or retool .

Both PK Subban and Patrice Bergeron signs with Montreal.

Subban to finish his career with the team who drafted him, and to replace the man he was traded for.
Bergeron to play with Quebec's team and mentoring Suzuki and Kotkaniemi.

Both at league minimum obviously

Is it Hertl or Meier that has an insane QO?
