WJC: 2022 Team Canada Roster Talk

Yep, haven't seen much out of him at all these 2 games.

Stankoven has to be on the team. He has the grit and defensive responsibility to play on the 3rd or 4th line, plus the wheels and shooting ability to break a game open at any time.

If I had to pick my 5/6 forwards that are making the squad based off these two games , aside from the scratched locks:

Lapierre
Roy

Dean, Finley, Evangelista, Cuylle all seem like obvious cuts.

I assume there is one spot remaining that goes to one of Tverberg, Dufour, Desnoyers. No idea.

Agreed. It’s between Tvergberg and Desnoyers for me.

Yeah I agree 100% with this. I give the spot to Desnoyers. Really solid backup Center.

Zellwegger looks like a star. Might not be the tallest, but looks squat and strong out there. To me, he is head and shoulders over the other Dmen.
Bedard does not look especially strong, as you'd expect from a 16 yo, but he still looks very good.

I have been watching the D, especially the Wild prospects, Hunt, ROR, and Lambos. They all looked decent, but I can't say that any one of them needs to be on the team, or that the team would be hurt by having them on it. In general, I would like to see the D under the pressure of a stronger opponent, as that's when the defensive warts start to show.

Garand came in at some point. Those later ones were possibly on him.

I think he’s 100% on that level. He’s been the best guy on the ice by a mile despite being multiple years younger than anyone else. The kid is electric!
