The 2 fastest talkers on earth; John Hoven, at 2.95325 words per second and Brandt Clarke, 3.125 words per second. When they do an interview, there needs to be a .675 playback speed, so one does not have to listen to it 3 times, to take it all in. I am just glad that Brandt thinks the game and sees the ice, 1.625 faster than his peers and can actually execute what his play selection is, with a pretty high success rate! This will soon translate to 1.275 faster than his NHL peers....at least when he has 50 NHL games under his skates.

I wonder if attitude like his walk-off is what rubbed Team Canada the wrong way, but it's exactly the kind of swagger the Kings need, between him and Durzi someone's gotta have some chip-on-shoulder.

It was more of a "personal issue" with Mctavish that kept him off the team . That is if you believe what others who've been around the two say is true. Not the best of friends from what I've read.

I’ve heard/read something along those lines also.

Clarke looks like the most offensively mobile defenseman the Kings have had since Steve Duchesne or Larry Murphy (if you don’t think Duchesne). It will be very interesting to see how he impacts the Kings once he is on the team.

here's the shot to his head cued up take that clowns number down for future ref

And this is why, despite as much fun as these are for fans, (especially coming off a long summer lay-off) that I hate exhibitions and WJC's.

Here is a guy who, at least according to the most trusted news source on the team is likely pencilled into your NHL lineup getting cheapshotted by an undrafted camp invite, in an AHL arena, competing in a meaningless exhibition game against and with guys who mostly have no shot of being NHL players.

That is why the WJC snub meant nothing except to the ego of fans who want to hype their guys on messageboards and social media. I was happy that neither him or QB were at the WJC. They could have easily pulled a Kupari/Norris and caused harm to the Kings season.

It's meaningless as far as points in the standings, but show me a professional player who would turn down an opportunity to play organized hockey and getting their legs going before the season starts. This is valuable to the players, coaches, and organizations.

This has nothing to do with egos of fans, except fans who just want to have bragging points about their players.

I don't dispute the players competitiveness. I question having players that you project to your NHL roster playing in an exhibition tournament against players who for the most part have no chance to be NHL'ers.

It's an upside vs. downside debate.

I see both of sides of the argument but also believe these type of rookie tournaments mean more to a pro career than international tournaments since the team is comprised of (hopefully) pro teammates.

Now Byfield? Should he be playing in something like this? That's pretty questionable.
