I do not think whether or not you think he will sign should have any bearing when assessing where he is at on the path to being a valuable NHL player. To me Rosen is still a boom or bust candidate with a high cieling AND low floor. Johnson is years ahead in development, so we know more of what he will be, with a lower cieling than Rosen, but a much higher floor at this point. He is close to a lock to become an NHL defenseman. Probably a good third pair, serviceable second pair. If I am an NHL GM and can freely take one of the 2 for my team, I am taking Johnson.
