RULES: Each poll will remain open for 2 days. In the case of a tie within the top 10, I'll create a 1-day runoff poll to decide the winner. Ties outside of the top 10 will be left as ties. For each additional poll, I will add the most commented next to add prospect.

ELIGIBILITY: All players whose rights are held by the Buffalo Sabres and who are eligible to win the Calder Trophy for the 2022-23 season are eligible inclusion. That means a prospect is eligible if--
  • He is under age 26 (as of September 15, 2022);
  • He has played no more than 25 games in any single preceding season; and
  • He has not played 6 or more games in each of any two or more preceding seasons.

Whoever broke the 4-way tie last time, you're banned. :laugh:

It's a testament to the depth of their pool that two guys who may get into games on recall this year aren't yet selected.

Exactly this.

I'm very certain Biro and Murray will get at least a few games each this season, even if its just to be reserve forward.

To be fair it may only be because they are both on their last season of waiver exemption. Could be the last chance to see if they have "it", or, are possible options to replace a Hinostroza type on a roster as opposed to career tweeners.

I think several in our top 20, around 5, will get NHL games in their career. Just not with the Sabres.

Went with Cederqvist as well. Being able to get some eyes on him in the pre-season he looks like he could be a bottom 6 guy in the next season or so.
Definitely looked better as time went on. He had a rough game in the prospects tourney, but bounced back nicely. Agreed, he may be a missing ingredient with all these finesse guys around.

I was referencing Weissbach and Cederqvist since Biro and Murray have aged out, but the same idea.

We have to many prospects

At some point, the option becomes to trade a couple for an established player.

At that point, people may need wellness checks.
