Why have they gone down the outhouse for the past couple of years?
Is it because those super talented posters just don’t post here anymore?

I think people do expect better shops these days. And the really skilled ones mostly just post on their socials to get their follow counts up for monetization and dopamine hits.

But some low skilled shops are some of the best ones ever. Most of the classic hilarious ones from HF were cheap cut/paste jobs. Turkey girl for example.

The thing about memes is that the "uncanny valley" is vast; you either need it to be so low quality that it looks deliberate, or so well crafted that it looks deliberate. If you fall anywhere in between the two, it just looks like half-assed crap.
