IMO Trouba is sort of like former Ranger, Ryan Reaves, in that fans on other teams seem to like him more than home fans.

The highlights are good and all, but he’s not the rock solid defenseman that said highlights may imply.

Before someone says it…no, I am not saying Reaves and Trouba are on the same level when it comes to hockey.
Agreed. I would take him but 5 mil per. Should have specified.

I go to a fair amount of Rags games and was invited last night . . . didn't go. Trouba is wildly inconsistent and needs to stop taking ill-timed penalties. My Rags friends see him as poor choice for the "C" - not sure last night helped him in the locker room.

I thought Trochek would really help them . . .and he may. They will be a dangerous #7-8 seed to play. But right now, there seems like zero cohesiveness on the bench. I see them shaking up that roster, upgrading Halak.
Reminds me of Phaneuf in Toronto in terms of style, skill set and mistake to give him the C.

Overall s--show it net for the Blues, as Greiss replaces Binnington and starts his evening by tumbling in to the net(1:50 mark of clip below), to the delight of the PPG crowd.

Blues fans pretend he made a difference in 2019 but that rosters commitment to shut down defense with a lead and the questionable physicality threshold is what won the Cup.

Binnington is _____. Embarrasses himself constantly.
3.27 GAA and a .895 save percentage through 19 games this year. A far cry from his rookie year.
His save % has steadily dropped each year since then.

Binnington is a shithead and not even that good. He was better than the crappy Jake Allen who was tanking a good team early in 2018-19 then played passably average for the postseason before getting incredibly lucky for one period that happened to be the first period of game 7 so people think he's more than he is. But he's another flash in the pan who makes Cam Ward look like Johnny Bower.

Complete rebound machine. Rask outplayed him badly over 6 games but people only remember the 7th.

Ok, but he's not wrong. Binnington is looking more and more like a average/bad goalie who had a hell of a hot streak, basically another Cam Ward.

Since that incredible 50 games run in 2019 his seasons in order are:

.912/2.56, 3.3 GSAA
.910/2.65, 2.6 GSAA
.901/3.13, -6.4 GSAA
.895/3.27, -5.6 GSAA

And he a documented s**tbag on this ice with multiple instances of douchebaggery. Even his coach just came out and blasted him for it in the media.

OK

But what does that have to do with sour grapes?

Trouba lights up Athanasiou

I'd say Trouba can lay a hit better than any other player in the current NHL. That was a beauty. Good response from Chicago too, the captain was right in there sticking up for his teammate. I also really liked Goodrow patting Murphy on the back after their tilt, as if to say, "well done, you did the right thing stepping in, fair fight".

The Rangers need more guys as invested as Trouba is at the moment.

Well, when we cheer for Marchand you really can't call anyone else out on douchebaggery.

I think that was the ref patting Murphy on the back to let him know the fight's over. I thought it was Goodrow at first, too.

Oh you're right, it is too! Still, the outcome is the same. The guys throw down, then it ends pretty amicably once the fight has served its purpose. In context, that's as it should be.

Just noticed the Habs lost 7-6 in OT last night. It was 4-0 Habs after 20, Canucks rallied, Studnicka made it 5-4, Habs made it 6-5, then blew it. Slafkovsky got smoked again. Seemed like a crazy game.

Crazy finish to the Bolts-Red Wings game. TBL down 2-0 with five minutes left
TBL pulls the goalie, scores. 2-1
TBL pulls the goalie, DET scores, 3-1
TBL pulls the goalie, scores, 3-2
TBL pulls the goalie, DET scores, 4-2 final.

Bolts had something like 25 shots in the 3rd. Husso stood on his head.
