Clearly teams are not scared of the Russian factor. Most of these guys are going around where they were expected to.

Well the thing is the Russian factor played a part in dropping them to this point to begin with. It's also the health for Miro but Yurov and Miro are both probably like top 10 at least top 15 talents

Yurov fell. (And Minty is in the CHL which gave him a huge advantage.)

I assumed a team with multiple 1sts would feel more comfortable taking them.

The big surprise was Miro going before Yurov and a team with no extra picks taking him but the Caps do have a lot of Russian players and probably feel like the boom/bust swing there is worth it.

Umm no they aren’t. Both of those guys would’ve been top 10 picks and multiple other guys probably would’ve gone by now.

Well I guess they’re going where they were expected to go with the Russian factor taken into consideration

Yes, this is what I mean. There was speculation that they would drop even further, and possibly be available in the second round, but that hasn't happened.
