One man's opinion, but something to note is that for all 4 of our picks so far this draft, Pronman has them rated as "below NHL average skaters." Wonder if we're seeing something different from him, or if we just are betting on skill and other attributes.
McKeens thinks Trikosov's skating is very good:
Trikozov’s greatest attribute is stickhandling, stickhandling, and more stickhandling. His puck carrying abilities are what separates him from most of his peers in this draft class, combining them with sometimes breathtaking edges to escape suitors and attack open ice with pace and powerful strides. In addition, he makes strong use of crossovers with the puck on his stick to circle around the opposition zone or even dance his way through the neutral zone. Trikozov truly plays the game as though carving up defenses with his speed, skill, and ferocity is what it’s all about.
Perevalov is a work in progress, but not terrible:
The real question mark is how you view his skating ability. His mechanics are not terrific, and he lacks elite separation quickness, but he manages to be an impactful transitional attacker despite these flaws thanks to strong edgework and his aforementioned puck skill. Once he builds speed, he can sustain it and this helps him to apply pressure with and without the puck.
