boo. oh well. Dryden McKay got an inconsequential suspension. those anti-doping rules can be dumb sometimes. contaminated vitamins = 6 month ban. Garand should be HFD eligible next season. I could see signing McKay and letting those two fight for a spot. Worse case, he plays in the ECHL. Wall and Huska aren't really getting it done down there.

Braden’s brother, worth a mid round pick

Brady Berard
Jack Hughes
Marek Schneider
Jordan Grubbe
Konsta Kakko
Ryan Wall

Trade for Carl Lindbom.

Let's get all the younger brothers of guys currently in the system! We already got Hartford to sign Easton Brodzinski! I'm on board! Let's get this done!

Let's sign Matthew Scanlin and Tyler Robertson!

What about Cuylle’s teammate Ryan Abraham? Where is he projected to go in the draft? Fills a need a center ice

We already tried cornering the market on younger brothers with Brian Sakic Marcel Hossa and Feodor Federov. Strong pass 😀

I know NYR don't need another LWer but if they keep their first would Jagger Firkus be a good option? What's the rundown on him? Is there any better C options in the late first like Gaucher?

If we're drafting a teammate of a current prospect, I'd be thrilled with Jagger Firkus, Gavin Hayes or Marco Kasper.

The Firkus Circus
Gavin a good time
Kasper the friendly ghost

Nicknames already sorted.

17-Nashville
18-Dallas
19-Kings
20-Capitals
21-Pittsburgh
22-Edmonton
23-Boston(Anaheim)
24-Blues
25-Tampa Bay
26-Rangers
27-Wild
28-Toronto
---------------------------
29-Calgary(Montreal)
30-Carolina(Arizona)
31-Avalanche(Arizona)
32-Florida(Sabres)

The Rangers first round pick will be 26th overall. The Rangers would give up their pick if they reach the ECF and Copp plays 50% of the playoff games and the pick would be between #29-#32. The Rangers could move up if a team ahead of them in the standings reaches the CF. Looking at TB. They can beat Toronto and Florida. Maybe Edmonton. They can beat LA. Calgary will beat the Stars. The battle of Alberta will be good. I will be rooting for Edmonton. They have played much better under Jay Woodcroft. Mike Smith is playing well. You never know with that guy. There will be upsets in the playoffs.

The Rangers were 25th and their win last night knocked down to #26. The Rangers have one more point than the Blues. Rangers won. Blues lost. The Rangers were 28th for a while but Minnesota and Toronto took off and the Rangers slumped in the last week.

Winnipeg has the option of taking the Blues second round pick in 2022 or the Rangers 2nd in 2023.

The Rangers second round pick in 2022 becomes a first round pick in 2022 if the above mentioned conditions are reached.

Winnipeg traded their 2nd in 2022 and 2023 to the Caps for Brendan Dillon. The Jets will probably split up the picks in the Rangers trade. We will see.

The Rangers pick can be as high as 22nd overall. For every team ranked below them in the reg season standings to reach the final four, their draft pick climbs a spot.

Which is reasonable to expect. All four division winners were bounced in Round 1 or 2 last year. In 2020 it was 3 of 4 division winners who didn’t make the CF. In 2019 all four got knocked out in R1. Kiss of death it seems.

NHL Central scouting low rank steals to target with late 1st and 2nd:

#21 NA Skater - C Frank Nazar
#22 NA Skater - RW Rutger McGroarty
#33 NA Skater - RHD Noah Warren
#47 NA Skater - LHD Mats Lindgren
#58 NA Skater - C Servac Petrovsky

#10 EU Skater - RW Brad Lambert
#15 EU Skater - RW Gleb Trikozov
#18 EU Skater - C Noah Ostlund
#33 EU Skater - LHD Simon Forsmark

We should be targeting centers, but these would all be steals if they go as central scouting has them ranked.

Sadly this is a better drafting strategy than the Rangers had for two decades in the 90s and 2000s.

Less draft talk, more undrafted free agent talk. Every time I see Mikheyev being a beauty I get so Rick'd.
