I don't know how I just learned this -- possibly he's so grotesque I prefer to not think about him -- but Fletcher and Flahr's relationship goes back to 1996, where Flahr was a scout for the Panthers right after graduating from Princeton (boy, our general managers are so smart). His first job at 22 years old was under Fletcher. In his 26 years in the NHL, 22 have been with Fletcher. And 2 of those years apart were just sticking around an extra year after Fletcher left Florida and then Anaheim. Are there a bigger set of bosom buddies in the NHL than these two? Awooga.
