2 brutal losses for the Phillies this week with Nola on the mound. Lost 1-0 in the Angel Hernandez shit show and now is the losing pitcher in the no-hitter

Both Florida teams had less attendance than the A’s last night. Can’t wait for the Rays to Vegas talk to pick up steam.

That weasel prolly does speak French
Lol. I feel for them a bit. Even if there is genuine interest in bringing a franchise back in Quebec I don’t know how interested Manfred and mlb are about it. I’d think they’d rather have all new teams and moving teams stay in the US.

The Reds fall to 3-18.

They may be worse than 47-115 2018 Orioles.

Joey Votto won't realistically keep an OPS+ in the low 30ies for the whole season and their starting pitchers won't keep their collective WHIP around 1.7 either.

But it looks really, really dire if Votto has hit the proverbial wall.

Well, he’s 38. That shouldn’t even be questioned.

Did not see the Jays becoming a team that wins 1 run games with pitching and defence 3-4 times a week. Imagine if the offence starts to click at just 75% of what was expected.

Congrats to the umpiring crew of the White Sox Angels game who just had their FOURTH call overturned at first base today.

Angels manager Maddon leaves starter Michael Lorenzen in for the 9th with the score at 6-0. Of course, Lorenzen has spent most of his career as a reliever and has never had an outing that long. Lorenzen promptly surrenders a few hits in a row and 2 runs breathing life into the ballpark and Sox dugout. Angels finally go to the bullpen and continue their implosion as Iglesias gives up a couple hits, walks Grandal and hits Abreu with a pitch . Angels now only up 6-5 with bases loaded with 2 outs and Angels making another pitching change.

Extremely likely none of that happens if Lorenzen doesn't come out for the 9th. This is basically why teams pull pitchers who're on no-hitters/perfect games. A 'scheduled' pitching change is a totally different beast than a mid-implosion pitching change with runners on base.

Let's check in on the Reds...

9-1 Rockies. About to be 3-19.

Get Votto to a contender please.

Red Sox about to lose a series to the Orioles as they are down 9-1. Ouch.

The Red Sox seem to have this thing where they're almost like the Canadiens (not taking a shot here), where every few years they figure out they're better than they're supposed to be and overachieve, but it lacks sustainability.

Dylan Cease is quietly establishing himself as one of the best young pitchers in game

Great performance today with 11 K's and no walks while allowing only a single hit in 7 IP

if Hendriks can nail this down Cease would improve to

3-1
2.48 ERA
39 K's

The As had 2 hits and less than 2500 fans.
There are still plenty of A’s fans. Most of us don’t feel like giving even more of our hard-earned money to a top-5 owner in terms of wealth, who just this offseason cut payroll by more than 2/3 while raising ticket prices between 1/3-50%, until the bastard commits to the city.

And after the stadium gets done, he better be forced to sell. I don’t want the A’s to become Earthquakes 2.0, where they get a new stadium AND have the lowest payroll in the sport.
