They needed 2 goals. But at least if you are going to pull the goalie wait until you have possession of the puck.
I went back and re-watched it, based on Miller announcing the goalie was coming to the bench, the decision to pull him happened while they had control. And then Musty did what he did.

Still, with 5 minutes left, you have enough time to at least try to score in the first 20 seconds of a 4 on 3 before pulling the goalie. 4 on 3's are very dangerous.

Wow at that LaFontaine-Yzerman draft story from Miller just now. LaFontaine was going to be a Red Wing before Illitch's wife said no to spending 1 M, lol.

True. At least let the 4 on 3 go for awhile before pulling the goalie.

We should’ve won both games against Finland and Czech Republic, but it was a perfect storm to lose these games between goaltending, refereeing decisions, penalties, and flat out poor play.

Can’t be too upset as we almost never put up a good effort at this tournament, yet still almost always get a number of good players from this team. It’ll be the same thing with this team.

lol, I had forgotten he is out in the wilderness.

Czechboy, undercover and alone in Alaska.

No probs.

USA arguably the more talented team today? Sure. Against Finland, pretty even at best.

Americans were inferior at *team play* in both games. Solo efforts, hope passes, selfish penalties.

Think about Finland's play style - at most one solo move, then a crisp pass up-ice, lots of movement off the puck, lots of puck support offensively and defensively. I get that these teams are thrown together with minimal practice time to gel, but there wasn't nearly enough solid team play from our guys.

Well, gonna skip the Swiss-Slovak game to go practice my serve before the Canada-Sweden marquee match up.

Brother arrives on Sunday and the Campbell Open will be on every day for 2 weeks straight, it's serious business and I've got to be in top form.

I'll push him to play the very next day after he arrives, take advantage of his jet leg to put the first match in the bag, you gotta play all the angles.

Watch out for the ball boy...

He may be old, but he's spry !

Did they just say the winner of the Canada-Sweden game plays Finland next game?
Since Czechia beat Finland, that sounds right.
