#23 for Finland gets to all the right spots and then does nothing once he’s there

Went out to the Alberta backwoods with the wife and kids for the day. Back in cell reception zone now.

How has the Yanks v Suomi game been?

Meh. Not a great game but... okay.

Finland has been the better team but the refs have certainly helped their cause.

Well that does that.

The Finns rebounded from their tough first game loss pretty well I'd say, nothing fancy at all but as usual very workmanlike performance from them.

USA looked great for the first 7 minutes or so, but have taken many foolish penalties. Finns are playing a nice positional team game, and have won a majority of loose pucks and board battles. Finn goalie outplaying our guy too.

The only suspect call this game was on the “dive” off a two hand slash to the back of the legs, which went against the Finns. Every other call has been painfully clear; the Americans have hurt themselves.

The Finnish guy making the timely stops that Vachon simply is not really is the difference today.

Tight positional team work is a hallmark of Finnish hockey.

How has Whitelaw looked he was impressive last game?

The Finns also have this Kiviharju kid I’ve been hearing about for a couple years. Haven’t had an opportunity for any live viewings. Supposed to be a dynamic D man, how has he looked?

Edit: looks you just posted about him above as I was typing this reply.

I don't know, D, the slash to the Finnish goalie pads wasn't necessary.

Also, St Louis's boarding call was iffy to me.

Haha yes you are. I also made a mistake, his last name is spelt Mcdonough
:)

It took first period for Kiviharju to settle down and he and Halttunen didnt quite connect on powerplay but his just been dominant 2nd and 3rd period
