Well, if we believe his doctors, he will grow a bit more which factors in how I ranked him.
I am not sure how much stock I would put in a single privately procured endocrinologist's report. It is just one opinion that only provides a possibility but certainly does not with any certainty whatsoever predict significant growth if any at all.
If he grows then I bump him up my rankings next season, we don't have endocrinologist reports from other players who may still have growth plates so why assume that they do not. There is a reason that he spent money on an endocrinologist and other players did not and that is because he needs to grow to likely have any chance at all.
As it is now he is easily the worst defender among dmen rated to go in the first half of the draft. It isn't just his size, he struggles pivoting while backskating and does not have good straight ahead speed or backskating speed. He is entirely ineffective with his body and is too short to effectively occupy passing lanes with his stick. I challenge you to watch more of his game than just the offensive wizardry that we all love. He really looks bad at times in his own end and it happens far too frequently.
All of this said, he does have elite hands, vision, creativity and lateral agility and was worth the gamble at 62 based on the possibility of a growth spurt. I am cheering for him as much as anyone but putting him ahead of some of our other prospects at this precise point in time is ridiculous imo. I am not sure where exactly I would rank him but definitely outside of our top ten and I strongly suspect that most pro scouts would agree with that.
