Prospect Info: 2022 8OA, Marco Kasper

Could maybe make an argument that he was our best player down the stretch, with all things considered (though the team kind of limped home, so not exactly a ringing endorsement).

I was of the mindset the shot needs more work, but the amount of games I feel like he just walked in a ripped one past the goalie has me questioning it. Maybe it's a rookie catching guys off guard? Maybe it's repeatable? Probably me just catching the right games hahaha. That said, even if a bit of regression is due statistically next year, I think the overall game progresses far more and outweighs that.

He's definitely made me open the door to him being able to become a top 30 centre in the league. How chances of that, I'm still unsure of. It's not zero though. Love his game.

From January 10th, which is exactly 41 games, 17G, 32 blocks, 92 hits. Good shot at hitting 30 goals as the 2C next season.
Kane still has lots in the tank ut appears. I hope's back next year and Cat Kasper Kane is mainstay second line. If that's the case he's getting 30+

30g is first line production. It will depend on who are his linemates, TOI (PP?) and injuries. I'd be very, very happy if we see a 25g & 25a season of him next season.

His style of play is fun too watch but it's absolutely possible that his play will lead to some injuries on his career-path. Last year he had surgery in the offseason so that wasn't a good start for training camp.

Give this guy a full injury-free Offseason and a full camp with the team. He is still a young player and a few years away from his prime. There's still room to improve his game to another level which is an exciting.

He's good at protecting himself. Also by all accounts a machine when it comes to physical fitness.

I want him back, but I can see him heading back to Chitown.

I dunno Chicago is a disaster, he's also Very close with Debrincat and I'm sure he will be in his ear all summer. They both have young kids and wives that are friends.

Yeah, I do think the DeBrincat connection could bring him back for one more year. So I'd be fine with continuing down the one year at a time path.

Seems to be that Marco Kasper reached 2 bonus A categories at season 2024-25.

-Top six in Time on Ice among forwards (in total and/or per game) on team (minimum 42 games) - Kasper was 6th at forward ice-times.

-Top three in +/- among forwards on team (minimum 42 games) - Kasper was 2nd best forward (+1) after Copp (+4).

His A level bonuses for each category were valued 250k of each = total 500k in bonuses.

So his total earnings for this season was 886.667k base salary + 500k = 1.387 million.

There is a small chance for Kasper to be at All Rookie Team, which would give him another 250k bonus. But I think the Top3 of forward will be Celebrini, Michkov as a lock and one of Will Smith/Cutter Gauthier.

He was also short by 1 goal to reach 20 goals for another 250k bonus.

Good for him, Yzerman really roughed him up penny pinching for no reason.

I don't know about that. When you look at teams like Dallas and Toronto which could not rest stars at the end of the season due to no salary cap space. Those paper transactions can have a positive effect.
