Prospect Info: 2022 31st Overall Pick | LW Isaac Howard - Part 2

Ike was a scratch in today’s game against Hungary. It is believed it was precautionary, as he took a bit of a bump last game. But I could also see that he drew out so someone else could draw in (Shane Pinto). He played just over 8 minutes last game.

Maybe he was pissed that he didn’t get an automatic spot on the Olympics roster. :sarcasm:

what a knob... if he's as good as he thinks he is... it wouldn't have been for long, especially during playoffs.

and what an entitled f*** to think he's better than guys that are HOFers that went through minor leagues. What an absolute tool and ego this kid has. I cannot wait to unload him from this org.

We can't catch a break apparently. What a waste. No way to get back even value at this point.

Nice pick.

Oh well. Let teams talk to his camp, and hopefully there will be a few teams interested t hat he'll agree to sign with, thereby boosting his trade value in a small bidding war

Just want to make sure people understand how to read the tweet. It should read

“Basically, he said 'I am not going to Syracuse.' I mean, what can a gm do there? He doesn’t have any cap space.”

The "I am not going to Syracuse" is what Howard said and the rest is what EE added.

Howard is at the World Championships, and not really setting the tournament on fire. The staff is made up of guys from SJ, Chicago, Nashville, and Pittsburgh.

This is his opportunity to make an argument that he's that guy, and it's not really happening.

Howard's coach at Michigan State, Adam Nightingale, is also an assistant. The internal dynamics of Team USA must be fascinating.

I don't think he's going to be given a chance to make that argument. I've watched the games he's been in the lineup for (including this morning's) and he's been average for sure. Scoring wise, he has an assist (vs Norway).

But I think this episode was more getting a chance to take in the NLC (Next Level Competition) atmosphere vs "Go be Ike". I have him with an average of 8 shifts a game and about the same in avg TOI. There's 2 games left (Kazakhstan tomorrow and Czechia on Tues). If the latter is what he's there for, then not much runway left. If its the former, he's there to get the experience.

Either way, I can see it being a potentially humbling experience (which increases the likelihood of TB signing him).

The coaches and management either don't see him as ready for a scoring role, even with a relatively underpowered lineup, or they aren't impressed. It's supposed to be the Sharks, Hawks, Pens, and maybe Preds of the league that he wants to slot in to. Even their staffs aren't banging on the table for him.

Yeah in fairness, if he was setting that tournament on fire right now. Established himself as the guy in that tournament, JBB wouldn't even flinch with that suggestion. The fact remains though, he hasn't done anything to warrent that.

Even Nikita Kucherov went to the AHL and spent time in the minors. Arguably the best winger to ever played the game spent time in the minors. GTFO of here with that non sense.

The teams he's playing are pretty damn weak, significantly weaker than an average NHL team and USA has scored a ton of goals, dude just can't generate in mens league.

Sounds like a prime canadiate to go to some sort of development league to get him ready for the NHL......I wish we had something like that we could put him in.

Not like he's 18 either... draft +3 year, I'd argue a lot of AHL teams are better than Norway, Denmark, Hungary and Switzerland....they're playing Kazakhstan tomorrow too lol..

Celebrini is 18 years old with 5 points in 5 games
