Not bad. I think the Isles and Ducks could surprise and eke out a playoff spot.

I can't put my finger on the Knights. I can see them winning the division but also finishing sixth of seventh in their division.

You think the Caps are going to finish 6th in their own division? They finished with the record they did last year after missing basically their entire top 6 for the most of the first half of the season. They finally signed the best goaltender they've had in 4 years and made some great signings. They'll be without Backstrom but they were without Backstrom basically the entire year.

Barring catastrophic injuries there's no chance they finish that low in the Metro.

Haven't had time to really look into it myself yet, but at first glance Florida, Washington, Islanders, and St. Louis seem really low.

Dallas winning the Central? St. Louis missing the playoffs?

What has Dallas done in the offseason to justify picking them to win the Central? I am just curious as to the logic, as perhaps I am missing something.

The vote of confidence is appreciated but I don't think we're jumping that far ahead that quickly. Not without pretty much everybody re-learning how to play defense or something equally impressive.

I would LOVE to hear your reasoning on the Blues finishing 6th in the Central. I tried to envision that type of finish and I couldn't find any plausible scenario that would put them there. Are you predicting some type of implosion from Binnington and Greiss?

Each conference is tough for opposite reasons. Not sure where the turnover will come in the East and 5 of the 8 playoff teams out West next year could be new.

I'm sure you're well aware of the offseason they just endured...
They were leading their division last season before bringing in Giroux and Chiarot. Losing Marchment sucks but he was out half the season anyway. Forsling steps up into Weegars spot and one of the younger guys steps into the bottom six with Marc Stahl. We lose Huberdeau but gain Tkatchuk. Add White and Balcers, one of them may surprise. The Panthers aren’t suddenly missing the playoffs.

Los Angeles and Dallas are lower in the standings then they should be and Vegas and Winnipeg are higher in the standings.

LA added Fiala and the defense should be healthy again with tons of depth on their roster, Dallas brought in Mason Marchment after a career year and could be adding prospects Johnston and Stankoven up the middle, with solid goaltending from Oettinger and Wedgewood the Stars could be in the playoffs.

Vegas has no bottom 6 to speak of which says little about their depth at forward and the questions in net are still in place, is Lehner or Brossoit healthy? If not could Logan Thompson or another goalie in there organization carry them to the playoffs, I would say no Vegas is on the outside looking in.

Winnipeg hasn’t really made any meaningful moves but could have an influx of younger prospects come into the lineup. There are questions on if the Jets defense can hold up for a full season, I still don’t see them as a playoff team in 22-23.

I don't see them missing either, tbh. But they took a step in the wrong direction this offseason...with no picks to dangle at the deadline, I wouldn't be surprised if they are fighting for a WC spot.

The West is nonsense. I think Colorado will win again. I think Arizona and Chicago will be bad. Beyond that, I don't have strong feelings. All I really expect is chaos.

The defense remains the same with the exception of adding Gudbranson and maybe adding a full season of Blankenburg, Columbus has addressed their depth just depends on how the drafted defenders develop.

Even if the defense isn’t so good, having Gaudreau a healthy Texier and a full season of Kent Johnson should keep the excitement levels high enough to get the Jackets into the playoffs.

Most importantly the goaltending is going to have to become better this season, it’s also not out of the question that the goalies flop and Tarasov takes over the starting job in Columbus if he is healthy enough after injury troubles last season.

Winnipeg ahead of the Blues? Dallas ahead of the Avs? You’ve got some hilarious central division predictions here.

The Panthers could be in either side of the playoff line, they are also going to be missing Anthony Duclair to offseason injury, so he’ll be lost for most of the season and could be placed on LTIR but Florida is still going to be walking a salary cap tightrope with a minimum roster if no other moves are made by Zito.

Florida’s top 6 forwards look strong but the bottom 6 forwards look a little different with all the moves that were made.

Losing Weegar on defense is probably what hurts the Panthers as he was eating some good minutes with Florida.

You got Minnesota and Anaheim way too high IMO.

The Wild lost Fiala to LA trade and downgraded at backup goaltender with the trade of Talbot to Ottawa with no other moves made.

A full season of goaltending from 37 year old going to be 38 in November MA Fleury and young Gustavsson doesn’t seem like it would be the type to holdup for a playoff spot.

I not sure if you know how the Ducks roster looks but that defense is going to get caved in it’s current state if no other moves are made.

I could see Verbeek pulling the plug in late January or early February and going full fire sale at the trade deadline starting with trading John Gibson and UFA rental John Klingberg.
