Probably makes sense to start Quick verse TOR, STL and DAL. So Petersen should get the start tonight IMO.

But knowing TMAC, he'll probably just start Quick every game until he completely falls apart.

We currently dont have an NHL caliber backup. Having seen both goaltenders play recently I feel Copley is going to at least give us a chance every third game while Cal needs to go down and find out if he is still a professional level player in an environment that isnt costing us 2 points every time he plays.

Copley does have to pass through waivers.

I assume he wouldn't get claimed, but you never know.

He's a 6ft4 goalie, with some NHL experience who currently has a 1.77 GAA and .944 SV% in the AHL. There's a few teams that might consider making a claim.

I get your sentiment.. But I agree with the other poster that Cal needs to find himself outside the glare of the NHL.. he has been dogshit consistently for 1+ complete seasons after having a solid year 20-21. Let Copley have some starts (Cal obviously will clear waivers) and see how he does - he cannot be any worse
