With Vegas in the 1st round, not only do you get a more beatable opponent, but you also get less travel.

If the Kings were to make it past the 1st round, that would buy them extra time to get healthy before presumably having to play the Oilers again.

2nd round started around May 18th last year. That's almost a month and a half from today.

I also prefer Vegas but I'm always haunted by falling into the WC spot due to losing the final game in 2018 and being happy to face Vegas since I thought the Kings were good against them that season and I still didn't buy them as legit.

Then the Kings scored three goals in four playoff games and it was over in seven days.

I’m honestly ready to embrace some “8th seed-adjacent” energy and just cruise in.

Guys being healthy & fresh is gonna be far more important than any home ice advantage would be.

Well if the Kings don't get healthy by the start of the playoffs, it won't matter who they play because right now they are playing like a wounded animal. They're offense has gone dry. The oppsosing team is going to expose they're weakness.

Oh god, are we seriously getting Vegas fans parading thru here like Edmonton fans did?

That reeks of insecurity. Again. Thought they were slightly better as a whole but here we are...

I went by the Edmonton board just to say I’m legitimately impressed with their team this year and it could finally be the year. Immediately saw a comment about Kings fans being “entitled whiny sunbelt fans without perspective.”

These Rhodes scholars don’t even realize the Kings literally predate the Oilers. Shameless Canadian elitism.

They were very impressive in the last two games. Wouldn't surprise me one bit if they come out of the West this year.
They have 43 regulation wins. No one else in the West is even close. Kings, Knights, Stars all have 35.

Edmonton is 4-13 in OT/SO this year. There's no 3-on-3 or shoot out in the playoffs.

They're probably the best team in the NHL right now.

I can’t remember ducks or sharks fans gloating like this and we’ve had beef with them longer.

Can we play Colorado? Heard Makar is out lol

Edmonton and Vegas are getting on my nerves more this year than I can ever remember either the Sharks or Ducks doing.

The one exception was Thornton's slide after scoring the gamer-winner in the playoffs.

Elitism is ususlly just a projected inferiority complex.

Hilarious coming from Oiler fans. They are the whiniest fans in the league. Theyve been crying for a year about Mikey. If an Oiler player gets touched in their stadium the crowd starts crying.
There is a good rivalry going between the teams and its kinda fun though.

If one of them were to come over here to post something, that would be the one.

There isn’t a single Ducks, Sharks, or Knights fan that can hold a candle to a fan of a contending Canadian team. Not even close.

Imagine the worst of American football fans. The rabid homerism. The lack of self awareness. The hilarious unearned confidence.

Now condense that into a smaller population. That’s your average Canadian hockey fan.

Terrifying? Some of you act like you’re talking about Voldemort FFS. He’s just one guy.
Yeah, the fact that one player can move around like he does around players, I’ve never seen a player in recent memory who can do what he does.

Edmonton would be a lottery team without him.
