I think it’s kind of a Nashville situation with Poile in that the market has inherent challenges that provide a longer leash I’d reckon. Jarmo has brought in talent and watched all of them just decide they don’t want to play in Columbus even on good teams. Panarin, Duchene, Bobrovsky, Carter, Jones, and on and on…

It seems the league needs to contract AZ and CBJ. Moribund franchises that no player wants to be a part of.. either contract, move or sell. Something has to change with those 2.

The only reason I can see to justify that is the immense fall from grace. I think if the Kings imploded slowly then it’d be a different story. I think the Richards situation probably dinged him hard too.
 
rolling a 3rd d pairing of a 35 year old guy in his last season and on his last legs and a 28 year old who is clearly trade bait and clearly has no long term purpose on the team over Spence is just one of those many instances of Tmac gunna Tmac. Why give your young stud playing time against the leagues worst team to get some playing time when you can feed guys who wont be on the team next season?

There is some merit to it, just avoid the emotion and keep on keeping on.

Its really difficult to give the coach any guff when his team's on a heater. Yeah, I would like to see Spence and Bjornfot instead of Walker and Edler, but the guys are rolling now and sometimes the feeling in the room overrides what "should" be.
