He is too much of a puck hog to play with other premier players for long. May work for a game or two, but Fiala is very much cut from the same cloth as Athanasiou, just MUCH more talented across the board. Some guys just thrive with others deferring to them. This was pretty much how his time in Minnesota went too.

Yet he leads his team in assists (37) as a winger...

Boldy is much more skilled than Iafallo or Lizotte though, I think one of Vilardi or Kaliyev would work with him. He can definitely carry a line, but only so much

Exactly - you have Vilardi (37th goals/60) and Kaliyev(47th goals/60) getting scrub minutes as compared to Iafallo 154th and Lizotte 272nd

They aren't mutually exclusive. It means Fiala wants the puck on.his stick as the first, second and third option on his line. No different than other star offensive players.

Got it.. just saw comparisons to AA who def is not a playmaker. Fiala should have the puck on his stick, he creates space and makes plays no one on this team can - and then sets up his linemates to score as evidenced by his assist totals

Funny, they sure seem to be producing anyway.

Fiala and Kopitar are incompatible. They aren't going to put him on the Danault matchup line, so creating a 2nd scoring line is exactly where he should be. Not sure why folks are upset with his usage given the extended absences of Moore, Vilardi and Kaliyev.
