Lotta Sabres I really really like, this should be a fun game, hopefully they carry over from Sat and don't have the same meltdown as earlier this season

Have you guys heard what is up with Vilardi? Concerning he's missed a fair bit of time. Was hoping he'd be ready to rock after the ASG, but not the case.

I'm going to the game tonight, so it's a guaranteed loss. Definitely one to avoid. If y'all have any housework or chores to catch up on, tonight's the night.

MoneyPuck gives us a 57.9% chance to win this game.

Looking for the Kings to have some more success on PP tonight.

GKG! Looking forward to seeing the 23 banner again. Should be a much tougher game than the Pens. Hopefully they still have some energy left over from Saturday... Also this is Chychrun's first game for the Kings, right? :sarcasm:

Seeing that we already met our goal quota for the week against the pens....incoming shutout for the sabres. Lol. Hoping Mr. Jekyll shows up or is it Mr Hyde? I want to see a Byfield goal and another secondary assist. Let's do this big guy.

Is quick starting?
Crazy stat. Of all NHL goalies with 20 games played or more, Pheonix Copley has the fewest losses with 4 (1 in OT). In terms of the point percentage a goalie's record, Copley (0.825) trails only Linus Ullmark of the Boston Bruins (0.855).

Ride the Pheonix!
what's crazier is how the team in front of him is carrying him. Copley has provided a little above average goaltending and LA has a great points percentage because of it..imagine if they could get a true #1

Another interesting stat about Copely is that he has the highest percentage of shots blocked by teammates in the league at 23.64%.

That aligns with my understanding of his success - the team knowing its a 3rd stringer finally bought into playing a sound defensive game... that and the Buffalo meltdown combined.

I was looking at some of the deeper stats on him today, and I think he's been better than maybe we give him credit for.

His SV% on high danger unblocked shots is .754% good for 12th best league wide (min 20gp).

For perspective:
Vasilevsky .756
Oettinger .750
Saros .744
Vejmelka .732
Shesterkin .731
Kuemper .659
Quick .650
Petersen .313 (This is off the charts bad. No one else is even close)

Good stuff. Well save pct over time is a pretty reliable thing... but this gives more color to it - maybe he is doing much better than it appears. I also think that his style lends itself to less chaos in the D-zone.. which may not show in GAA or save pct, but shows up in winning due to less breakdowns. So maybe its all of the above. You cant deny his record is outstanding.

I expect a better effort this time.

The goal differential has dipped to -4 though. Could be a good time to get back up to -10. :naughty:
