Why would Gretzky be involved?

Of the numbers retired by the Kings he's the most famous player to play for the Kings and the NHL.

A simple congratulations would be nice.

Yeah, it would make about as much sense. This was Brown's night. Gretzky is old news, and he never won jack in LA. In terms of hockey, LA belongs to the LA Kings team circa 2011-12 through 2013-14.

I don't care if I ever see another Gretzky highlight in a Kings uniform. Give me Brown, Williams, Greene, Stoll, Kopitar, Doughty, and Quick every time.
