Copley saves at least 2 of those by just being in position.

Copley saves all 4 of those. Quick is now slower and guessing too much. He's always been a butterfly goalie that plays very aggressive, relying on quickness and being very acrobatic. The only way he can survive now, is being more square to the puck and better on his angles. Problem is this is something that can only be corrected in the offseason.

A lot of goals on few shots isn't exactly new from Quick. Even in his best days it was an issue. He just doesn't have the other end of the spectrum enough anymore.

So the Kings will go Dumpster diving for next Goaltender to play with Copley next year?

Assuming Copley is back, yeah, probably. His dead cap hit would be higher next year than his live cap hit if he was bought out this year. A 2024 buyout gets them some actual savings. In terms of the cap, they really are better off just stashing him in Ontario next year.

The Kings don’t look great tonight honestly. Devils found their legs in the second. Nothing is impossible but the Kings need to carry the play and dictate the next period.

it sucks knowing deep down that Quick ain't going anywhere this season, and Cal likely isn't going anywhere next season ( maybe even the one after that ).

Statistically Kings have more shots, hits, possession time.. I think the bad goals killed the momentum they had built in the 1st

All players do is elevate the puck now and most of the league is good at it. While that’s always been Quicks weakness, it’s even more apparent this season with his slowing reflexes. Him being out of position could be him compensating but it’s just not going to work unless he changes his play style and that’s not something that’s going to happen.
