Even if he does become better in the way long run I don’t think you can justify the early boom that Stutzle has been vs the dud Byfield has been pretty much the entirety of his time with the organization

Keep in mind if Stutzle was on the Kings, TMac would be giving him 7-8 minutes a night to promote the 2 way thinking he demands. Byfield might be thriving on Ottawa given the ice team he would be getting.

Maybe this is Pepe's m.o.. comes to a team.. plays solid tough hockey for a stretch, then the inner douche bubbles up and he cant the genie back in the bottle.. and thus you are left with dumping him for a 4th or higher.

I liked Lemieux a lot, he was a great pickup and was practically the heart and soul of the team for much of last season, but I don't think there is a place for him here anymore. I do think we need some toughness, but Lemieux has a ref crosshair on his head every game and he can't play any other way.

I like the idea of letting him go. I dislike more the idea of not having a single person on this team willing to get physical and actually drop some gloves. Everyone else on the team seems totally ok to take other teams garbage and I hate it

Its an even game without Eichel... if we want to be fair about the measuring stick. Kings cant handle the forecheck. even without a strong forecheck our top pairing does not move the puck well out of the zone... nor do the others

Hopefully we can find a replacement in free agency who can both play and drop the gloves when needed, all without putting the team on the PK at least once a game
