If I was coaching without any callups\trades I would start:

Walker Doughty (Puck movers to generate some offense, showcase Walker as well)
Anderson Roy (Shutdown pair. Played really well last year to carry us after all the injuries)
Edler Durzi - (Durzi with reduced 5-5 time but get him on your PP and 4-4. Edler reduced a little as well so he has some fuel left for the end of the game and ready for PK)

PK and Last minute(s) of a game if we are up:
Anderson Doughty
Edler Roy
Walker as a sub.
(Bench Durzi in those situations)

In the broadcast last night they said it well... "game management". They is no management, it's just roll out the lines and hope for the best. Coaches need to do their jobs and identify the weaknesses on our team and avoid them.

Is there such thing as a discouraging win? Kings sure tried to lose but Quick was dialed in and Reimer might have played his last NHL game. I'm no more confident in this team than I was the other night.

happy for the win....but lets be honest Reimer gifted 2-3 goals whereas Durzi only gifted 1. In the battle of Christmas gifts reimer was far more generous.

As other mentioned....Roy/Edler a decent 3rd line pairing; problem is they are our 2nd line.

Move Durzi and Arviddson now for a LHD. Durzi will never higher stock and perhaps some GM didnt see last nights game or the other gaffe from Game 1 where Durzi coughed it up needlessly for the Vegas to win the game with seconds left. Durzi gunna Durzi. I like the guy but 2 unforgivable gaffes this season alone. Maybe we can start a new stat for Dmen...unforced errors or GPG....Gaffes per Game. Arviddson still with one more year left on the deal.

I would not be trading with the Coyotes- they have no reason to make any trade thats not overpayment. We need to find a team with a GM on the hot seat whose willing to roll the dice to keep his job.

Back to Durzi- Sharks announcer calls it accurately....

Because Todd is a moron. I was liking Durzi before the start of the season but I truly don’t see him improving ever. I’m done with him. I’d try him at his original position before I fired him out of a cannon. As bad as he’s been defensively, he’s on his offside and Todd is setting him up for failure with his deployment.

Yeah and that’s fair to him. But Todd seriously needs to go. I think at this rate the Kings will never take the next step needed and cap out as a bubble playoff team then back to a rebuild. I don’t see the Kings going anywhere without the youth being put in the positions the vets are taking up. This is a scary time to be a Kings fan because they’re at their most set to grow and become a next level team however they’re right at the door of imploding with the way the team is structured. This is all on Todd.

On the subject of Todd, can't the team find a less expensive coach that can run a 131 & have questionable lineups? Also, bad personal decision like Durzi in the last minutes of periods & 33 + 22?

I actually think most of us know do know this, but there isn't much that we can do about it. All you can do is work with what you've got. It's also why a lot of people think Spence in the AHL is weird and why some people are wanting to trade for a better LHD.

I'd be fine with that, but to be honest I don't think Durzi as Clarke right now. He brings other elements obviously, but if I had to pick between the two I'd take the teenager. But who knows the plan with Clarke..

I think it's both, but I agree the primary reason is waiver games, and the reason I think that is recent history shows that's exactly how the Kings handle anyone in the org.
